Who's this y'all you speak of? I wasn't part of any 'cacophony of the concened', but there's no doubt that the last minute negotiations in Washington were influenced by those who voiced their extreme displeasure with the CR and Trump's wiffle-waffling about it.
In a nutshell, the base screamed their bloody heads off about this yesterday, and today the whole process has taken a decided turn towards what we (and Trump) have demanded on the wall.
It’s so predictable....person A takes exception to what the President said. Person A voices disapproval. Person B jumps into the fray and out of 100 Senators invokes the name Cruz, on a post having nothing at all to do with Cruz and ASSumes person A is even remotely thinking about Cruz. It’s actually quite hysterical. People B crowd keeps bringing up his name on a primary that ended years ago. 20 years from now in the faint distance we shall continue hearing the ghosts

What is called a pocket veto is found in Article 1, Section 7 of the Constitution. Essentially the President is required to sign or veto within 10 days (excluding Sundays). If he/she does not, it becomes law. If it is vetoed, it is returned to the originating house, who decides if it will attempt an override. Both houses must vote by 2/3 to OR. If the Congress is in adjournment, the bill dies without signature (said to be the pocket veto). In the present case, no bill has been presented yet. If it is tomorrow, then PDJT could hold it without taking action. He would be able to hold it until January 2 because 12/23 and 12/30 are Sundays. Since the terms of both houses end on December 31, the item would be pocket vetoed as both houses would be in adjournment. I hope this helps. Note that PDJT said he would not sign it; he didn’t say he would veto it. I’m thinking a pocket veto is in order.
