Former Michael Flynn Business Associates Indicted in Turkey Lobbying Case

WASHINGTON — Two former business associates of Michael T. Flynn, President Trump’s first national security adviser, have been indicted as part of a federal investigation into Turkey’s secret 2016 lobbying campaign to pressure the United States to expel a rival of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Charges against the two former associates, Bijan Kian and Ekim Alptekin, were unsealed on Monday in an Alexandria, Va., courtroom. The two men were charged with a conspiracy to violate federal lobbying rules, and Mr. Alptekin also was charged with making false statements to F.B.I. investigators.

The indictment is further evidence of a broad crackdown on unregistered foreign lobbying growing from the inquiry by Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel who has investigated foreign flows of money from Ukraine, Turkey and other countries designed to manipulate decision-making in Washington. Mr. Mueller referred the Turkey case to prosecutors in Northern Virginia earlier this year.

On March 8, 2017... General Flynn filed documents with the Federal government indicating that he earned $530,000 last fall for consulting work that might have aided the government of Turkey. In the filings, Flynn disclosed that he had received payments from Inovo BV, a Dutch company owned by a Turkish businessman with ties to Turkey’s president and that Inovo reviewed the draft before it was submitted to The Hill. - —— VIA Our ally Turkey is in crisis and needs our support, By Lt. This is for optics. The media is trying to give the impression that anyone with at least two degrees of separation from President Trump is dirty in some way. They have long ago given up on the Russian collusion scam.

Another Brennan see-eye-ehhhhh planted propaganda article.

The two “associates” so called of Flynn— were working for Hitlery/Kerry/Obama ... to gin up the concept that Erdogan’s “opposition” was organized by a Pennsylvania professor-— to provide Erdogan the cover he needed to purge his own govt and military of over 10K people— executed. This is fact. The article is pure.... pre-written drivel.

This is the LOSER’s perspective on who these two Turks were/are— because they did NOT get the professor deported. Recall that Erdogan and his son were making millions off the illegal oil tanker business, stealing oil from the Iraq fields and financing ISIS with the money-— NOT in support of anti-ISIS US “policy” (which wasn’t our policy, See: McCain).

This is how the slimeball media works to taint people they don’t like with guilt by association. The fact that a 4 star general knows lobbyists is not news. They could be two guys who associated with.... fill in the blank for any Washington guy they want to tar.

This is the resending of a threat to Flynn regarding his plea bargain. Take it back and your indictment is the next unsealed. Podesta? Not going to happen because any indictment of him would lead to Clintoon through his brother.

Somewhere in a just parallel universe, someone at the IRS would be looking at Comey and Muleass’s ITRs and finding some questionable and actionable item and hammering them in the head for it.

President Mueller is teaching Trump how to win. Too bad, but we are losing to the communists Democrats that have been running a corrupt Country for 30 to 40 years. We have no Constitutional law and order.

I think you are right about a message to Flynn with the unsealing of these indictments. I’ll bet there is one out there with Flynn’s son named.

A blind man could find these.

It took me awhile, but I finally found what I was looking for:

Kian and Alptekin's prosecution is led not by the special counsel but prosecutors with the Eastern District of Virginia.

SOURCE - The above statement is the very last sentence in the article.

I wouldn’t call that “burying the lead” but it’s darn close.

In a stunning move, a judge in the Eastern District of Virginia overturned the conviction of ex-business partner of former National Security Advisor Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, Bijan Rafiekian, Tuesday who was charged earlier this year with undisclosed lobbying that prosecutors claimed was to ensure the extradition of a Muslim cleric living in the United States back to his homeland of Turkey. Judge Anthony Trenga, who oversaw the case, stated in his 39 page acquittal decision that the evidence presented to the jury was insufficient to prove any type of conspiracy and based mainly on hearsay. He noted in...
