For the first time since the 2018-midterm elections, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi met with President Trump at the White House Tuesday.
Their meeting was originally supposed to be closed press, but that all changed when the White House press pool was invited into the Oval Office to broadcast their remarks.
President Trump started the meeting by thanking Pelosi and Schumer for showing up and made his case for additional border security.
"I am proud to shut down the government over border security," Trump said. "I will take the mantle."
"They're pouring into our country. We have to have border security. We have to have a wall," he continued.
After some back and forth with the Democrat leaders, Pelosi started to panic and said they should not continue in front of the press.
"I don't think we should have a debate in front of the press on this," Pelosi said.
"Its called transparency Nancy," Trump shot back.

President Trump then continued, leading Schumer to later argue the same.
"Let's debate, let's debate in private," he pleaded. "We shouldn't shut down the government over a dispute, and you want to shut it down."

After the meeting, Pelosi and Schumer ran to the cameras outside of the West Wing and further slammed President Trump's position.
"He will get no wall and he will get a shutdown," Schumer said. "This temper tantrum that he seems to throw will not get him his wall."
Hey Now!!! Ya just insulted Smug a##faced
Hey Nancy. How does it feel to be buttf*cked in public?
It’s called “transparency”, idiot, but in your case I’ll call is “Trannyism”.
Schumer got taken to the cleaners too. What a putz. He sounded like a fool and a coward.
The next couple of years are going to be rough and tumble, with a lot of political bloodletting. Hope Nancy and Chuckie have extra bottles of plasma handy. They are going to need it, esp. when the Democrat Party is indicted for Dossiergate (DNC money, you all).
I love this President!!!!!
Noise and results are two different things.
the magic negro gave 150 billion to the thugs of Iran who want to kill us.
But no to 5 billion to protect America?
Still the press is still up the negro’s ass.
It was $1.7 billion, IIRC. The $150 bil was the cash part of that.
You don’t overshadow the boss
He acted exactly like he should have
Dear Katie Pavlich: Please refer to your sixth grade grammar book and figure out when to use a period or semi-colon instead of a comma. (And quit saying, “sht” instead of “st”; I know you and Michelle Obama SHTRUGGLE with that.)
Supposedly Pence was in on convincing Trump to fire Flynn. Remember how he went public against him? Supposedly not only Ryan, but Flake, who you know Flynn also had stuff on, among Pence’s longtime best Swamp buddies.
They may have him in a box for now, but yeah, if Trump could replace him for his second term I think that would be a very good thing.
Ya THINK??!!??
"He will get no wall and he will get a shutdown," Schumer said. "This temper tantrum that he seems to throw will not get him his wall."
He is learning at the knee...
We hick Hoosiers have learned a thing or two since Quayle.
Pence confirmed to me that he does fine when delivering a prepared speech, but fails the test when it comes to doing extemporaneous battle with the vile ‘rats. Bottom line; Pence needs a script to be comfortable.
I’ve long believed that Pence does not support Trump’s MAGA agenda and he cannot be trusted.
Only if he would replace him with an attack dog.
