Earth’s Magnetic Field Decaying at an Alarming Rate

December 11, 2018 | David F. Coppedge

The biosphere depends on earth’s magnetic field, but it has been decaying rapidly for at least 1500 years.

In Spacecraft Earth: A Guide for Passengers, Dr Henry Richter describes how the story of the decay of the earth’s magnetic field caught his attention. He had read the monograph by Dr Thomas Barnes in the 1970s, and realized the implications: if the decay is true, the earth could not be billions of years old. He considered the various proposals for maintaining the field, but none of them work, he concluded. If this is a well-known fact, what do secular geophysicists have to say about it?

We keep making the mistake of trying to find one smoking gun.

The amorphous theory, short version, is this: The Earth's interior heats up over time, due primarily to tidal forces, but also perhaps in conjunction with some radioactive decay. Tidal force from the sun/moon, cause the solid inner core to shift constantly within the earth due to the hot fluid mantle between the two.

Imagine a smaller rotating sphere inside a much larger rotating sphere. The smaller sphere rotates faster for every rotation of the larger sphere, since its circumference is much smaller and the friction between the outer surface of the smaller sphere, and the inner surface of the larger sphere, act to mesh the two together. If this wasn't true, the two would rotate at the same speed.

Depending upon the amount of interior heat, viscosity of the molten mass changes and the amount of shifting likely changes as well. This process could build upon itself - compounding the heating.

Eccentric rotational differences, between the solid inner core and the Earth's outer crust, create a kind of pumping action, if you will, which is the real driver behind what is incorrectly called "Convection Currents", IMHO.

Heating of the Earth's interior steadily increases over time until a point is reached where interior heat is released through massive increases in volcanic activity.

Other possible consequences:

The Earth's solid iron core, rotating within the solar plasma/wind given off by our sun, is the source of our magnetic field [IMO].

The magnetic poles may vary because earth's solid inner core poles vary from shifting, as described above. The core may actually flip inside the earth. It may have whole sections that liquefy due to interior heat melting its outer surface.

This may lessen the core's ability to generate a magnetic field; since I don't see how liquid iron would be capable of producing a sustained magnetic field.

Heat buildup could also cause increased tectonic movement; perhaps even slippage of entire plates, like the plot in the movie 2012.

We are witnessing increased volcanic activity, earthquakes, deep earthquakes, sulfuric oxide emissions, increased magnetic pole shifting, a decrease in the strength of the magnetic field, and decreased solar activity.

Ice core samples record increased CO2 emissions around the time of a return to an ice age. Increased CO2 emissions are currently in the news, as the globull warmists keep reminding us.

A direct correlation has been established between lessening solar activity and increased geological activity on earth, albeit from limited available data.

I've seen a number of theories which attempt to explain the correlation, but none seem to fully explain what's behind this phenomenon.

We're only scratching the surface of the complex and cyclic earth/sun interaction. Could the earth's changing magnetic field be the cause of changes in the sun's sunspot activity?

Data demonstrates warm periods, the time between ice ages, what we're in now, last about 12,000 years. The last ice age ended about 12,000 years ago. What do you think is coming next?

Not exactly true. It uses the mag field for direction when stationary. Most professional GPS units have a compass for this reason.

We have debated this same idea from the same sources previously. Won’t waste the time going over it again. Someone can look it up from earlier posts using key word or title searches and go through those earlier threads. The sky is not falling.

We tend to forget that egg shaped stretch as we rotate also. It even affects female menstrual cycles in many species including man. Such a little thing, but so powerful. I absolutely agree... It is a complicated conglomerate of factors that can influence the total. Looks like we are on the same page for sure... I think what you propose is exactly what is happening. In fact it is late as a normal cycle...

"The reason for the great flood.... ...Gen 6:13..."

The field is decaying because God loves Irony.

And the amount of it His creation is generating on the Earth's surface is counter-acting the iron in its core.

Not to worry though, Tragedy tends to level Irony over time.

On a more Sirius note...

I saw your back and forth with non-believers. I'm sure you know Christians are not obligated in that regard beyond the first indications of willful spiritual ignorance.

The fact that you mentioned the Noah flood in the course of a discussion about free will is kinda ironic. Because the free will God desires for us in this age required our non-willful ignorance of spiritual events prior and ignorance regarding the parts of His current plan not yet revealed at that point in time.

That field of non-willed ignorance was rapidly decaying in the time of Noah. Due to the willfully disobedient sons of Gods breaking the rules and coming here. Those guys, quite literally, know too much. Plus, as the beginning of the chapter you quoted reveals: they knocked up the daughters of men creating unwanted hybrids.

THAT is why the Noah flood came about.

Satan was good at one time. Like most (not all) of God's higher creation, Satan had free will. He fell. He conned a third God's children to rebel.

The ignorance-driven free will God gives us today has to do with this being a second chance - mostly for the rebels whom He did not wish to destroy before another chance for them to choose Him over Death.

God is not a robot and does not want robots for main population of His kids - although He did make creatures without free will too, for obvious reasons they tend to work security -Ezekiel, Rev, etc.

What God wants from man is love. Which is only real if it is via free will choosing.

As His plan unfolded over millennia, the final choice becomes, for our sake, much easier with Christ.

We are now more free than ever to personally choose Life or Death. And the resolution of our various sins in the meantime is 100% up to us to dispose via repentance in Christ - no more blood or rotten church hierarchy needed to cleanse us.

Certainly God would be happy if all chose Him this time. But that is not likely. It would be difficult to read the bible and not understand that we are here today for the purpose of winnowing the still willfully disobedient chaff.

In fact it is late as a normal cycle...

Nature has a way of making up for lateness. The next ice age may come upon us with a vengeance.

Truly we live on a very dynamic and complex world, for the most part self-regulating.

Another part to the puzzle are the earth's oceans. For every volcano on the surface, there are hundreds more under the seas It's reasonable to assume the oceans will begin heating first if geothermal activity increases. This will cause them to release more gases, since the ability of water to absorb gas, like CO2, depends on its temperature.

So as the oceans warm from increased geothermal release, they in turn release more CO2, and more water vapor. More water vapor leads to increased cloudiness> more precipitation> more snow/ice build up> even more sunlight reflected back into space> cooler temperatures> change in ocean currents> less warmth for northern latitudes, & etc.

I agree, it's one huge, very complex process. Some of which builds on itself, almost exponentially - if you will.

Yep, in that graph, Note the increase of CO2 in conjunction with the decrease of Solar isolation? They both actually started to make the change about 8,000 years ago to set up the next one due.

If one looks at the previous glacial periods they started the same. One difference... This time it is having a delayed effect and the temp is not dropping as rapid as it has before. This may have actually been a good thing, but the end result will still the same and the cycle is headed down in temp soon in the long term.

The science is definitely there... I would predict that by about 2021 we are going to have crop issues world wide. For those who are not seeing this... It may only be two years away. This is a very short window of time in the timeline. This is definitely happening, history has proved this true.

I believe you are in good company, as a number of respected meteorologist are predicting at much colder temps in our very near future.

It that wasn't bad enough, what if we are also in for major increases in geological activity, such as massive earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic activity?! You know, some of the worse parts of the bible coming to fruition, in our lifetime!

You sound like you’re transitioning from a state of confusion to outright stupor. Think!

(And careful, you’re at risk of falling for another pea-brained leftist idea.)

Here’s how the agnostic thinking goes: “God didn’t make the world according to the humanist utopian fantasy, so I’m confused and now I don’t know anything.”

Go check all those out. But keep in mind that not one of those are a disaster by themselves, not one is a smoking gun. But add a + in between them all and it adds up to be a very substantial = total sum which will be all happening at once very soon.

pandemic anthropogenic global magnetic field decay is being brought about by usage of too many magnetic fields from power generators, power transmission lines, motors, radio signals and the like ...

the only way to save humanity is to destroy it by eliminating all anthropogenic magnetic fields ... we’re nearly at a tipping point where if that isn’t done in a year or two, we’re all doomed ... you heard it hear first ...

i’m getting ready to make a movie about this and go on a world speaking tour, and am expecting to make hundreds of millions of dollars ...

next i’m going to set up a magnetic field credit exchange where you can buy indulgences, uh, i mean magnetic field credits to compensate for your use of magnetic fields ... these credits will go towards planting forests to soak up excess magnetic fields ... i expect to make even more hundreds of millions by speculating in magnetic field credit futures ...

Thanks fieldmarshaldj. Ooooh, I'm shakin'. :^) The magnetic pole has wandered hundreds of miles since I was a kid in scouts, and had to learn how to use a compass. I wonder sometimes if the magnetic field fluctuations are tied to solar activity (we're in a solar minimum right now). Check out our fine selection of FR keywords, including poleshift.
