Obviously there is no "right" for anyone to be let into the White House.

What bothers me is, that if the courts rule against him, Trump might comply.

He should cut to the chase and let the powers that be know that he alone controls who enters the White House. And they can all go pound sand.

Their brief by Olson refers to president Trump as a politician not as president. The article cites judge Napolitano among others stating that CNN will quickly win the lawsuit.

I wonder how Fox News would recommend the handling of an out of control “reporter”. Every news conference would become a debate and the reporter would become the center of discussion. Should the President simply stop news conferences and instead do one on one with select reporters?

the same broad discretion to regulate access to the White House for journalists (and other members of the public) that they possess to select which journalists receive interviews, or which journalists they acknowledge at press conferences

That's so simple and direct.

You noticed they point out who appointed this judge. I had just commented on the Georgia gubernatorial election where two Obama appointed federal judges are letting the Democrats count ballots missing Identifying information. Do you think the press in Georgia tell us the judges are Obama appointees? No of course not! But they should.

It’s not like the White House needs to have press meetings. Just shut them down if CNN wins (which they obviously shouldn’t...being allowed to ask the President Questions isn’t a right)
As far as I know Wikileaks , Infowar also aren’t allowed into press meetings. Why not StormFront or 4Chan???

Pretty simple, bar the “accoster,” give the commie news network another pass for a different reporter, and publish a set of minimal guidelines to cut back on the rudeness.

Or not. The media has proven they are on their knees for the left (Krouthhammer you magnificent ba5tard.....!)

NO MORE WH PRESS CONFERENCES. Trump should take a page from the Obama Playbook. Trump should just tweet out the truth and let the chips fall where they may. As long as Trump has these Press parties, they can report he said all kinds of things he never said.....so just stop them right now.

The White House is the President’s ‘residence’, he can bar anyone from entering.

If CNN would happen to win this stupid lawsuit, they would set a precedence they would regret.

So, if CNN has a magic right to be in the White House, under 1st and 5th Amendment Rights, then I have a magic right to go on their network anytime I want. If they say no, then, I could sue them for violating my 1st and 5th Amendment Rights.

I can’t believe he even has to respond to this. Is there nothing the court does not have final say over? How about the President’s bathroom breaks? What if he excuses himself to go to the bathroom during a press conference? Could the court rule that that was unconstitutional?

I’ve been saying for decades that the White House is not an office for the media. With web access, all Americans can get the WH news directly from the WH, with the press office giving statements every day on the issues. Then, if desired, they can send an email to a a specific address with a question they’d like answered. The major media itself would be neutralized and there is nothing wrong with doing that.

I never paid any attention to Obama era news conferences. They were jokes. The media is there now for a sideshow. They have no interest in reporting the news.

Simple fix. Quit having press conferences. It worked for Hillary during her election stealing attempt.

Fox News is filing an amicus brief in support of CNN after the Acosta incident. Those are big media corporations sponsored by oligarchs—not the “press” as discussed by our nation’s founding fathers. The press was for common Americans to honestly inform their countrymen about bad deeds done by oligarchs and actions that needed to be taken to protect themselves—not for propagandizing against the population in favor of oligarchs.

If he can’t, then I want a press pass too.

Can’t have it both ways, CNN.

Either everybody is entitled to one or it is a privilege that can be awarded or revoked at-will.

Trump does not even need to hold a physical press conference.

He can decide to not hold press conferences. He can grant private interviews to selected reporters. He can even just say what he feels like saying on the White House web site or on his twitter feed.
