Nervous Democrats ask: Could Election Day disaster strike again? (Yes! Yes it could!)
McClatchy DC Bureau ^ | October 10, 2018 05:00 AM Updated October 10, 2018 11:30 AM | Alex Roarty

It was this week two years ago that Hillary Clinton’s victory looked assured, when the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape of Donald Trump bragging about sexual assault appeared all but certain to end his campaign.

Jesse Ferguson remembers it well. The deputy press secretary for Clinton’s campaign also remembers what happened a month later.

It’s why this veteran Democratic operative can’t shake the feeling that, as promising as the next election looks for his party, it might still all turn out wrong.

“Election Day will either prove to me I have PTSD or show I’ve been living déjà vu,” Ferguson said. “I just don’t know which yet.”

are now closely — and nervously — watching the current election near its end, wondering if history will repeat itself. This year, instead of trying to win the presidency, Democrats have placed an onus on trying to gain 23 House seats and win a majority.

The anxiety isn’t universal, with many party leaders professing confidently and repeatedly that this year really is different.

But even some of them acknowledge the similarities between the current and previous election: Trump is unpopular and beset by scandal, Democrats hold leads in the polls, and some Republicans are openly pessimistic.

What shocks me more than the AZ race is the Florida race for governor. A hard left socialist named Gillum has lead the republican candidate for governor, DeSantis, in almost every poll! Yes in a state like Florida, which is not even a blue state! At best it is a purple state.

When it got to the bit about Trump being unpopular and beset by scandal, I stopped reading. The writer is clearly delusional.

If one wants to believe the polls, the President is at his high point of approval. He is more popular now than when he was elected. The Russia Collusion Myth has unraveled--and only the rabid left believes in any of it. Brett Kavanaugh's lynching has become a Democratic scandal with centrists.

The polling trends are going Trump's way--either by genuine movement or pollsters finally getting more honest lest they look like total clowns a month from now.

Steyer, Soros et al are targeting state elections because they will effect the 2020 redistricting which effects the House of Reps. That is why the state and local 2018 elections are important, they will more than likely effect the 2020 redistricting and therefore have a direct influence on Congress for the 2020-2030 decade.

Desantis has ran a wussified campaign, Gillum is a corrupt Bernie Sanders anti-semite, gun control advocating communist. A republican PAC has run decent ads attacking Gillum as radical and corrupt. It has struck a nerve as Gillum tried to have a cease and desist order issued to stop the ads. It has been said that Trump will come to Florida later this month and campaign for Desantis. Let’s hope so to counter act the polling trying to make republicans stay home in Fla.

In the Florida primaries there were over 125k more republicans casting votes than democrats, but Soros Steyer et al have been hard at registering “new” voters in Florida.

E. Pluribus Unum,
I agree. Let’s hope in addition to those who voted in 2016 and intend to vote Republican in 2018 that they drag a lot of extra folks with them to vote Republican on Election Day.

I cannot comprehend the sheer foolishness of any mother voting on the Democrat side. Talk about a mother that must hate her own son/s. Daughters as well, as they can and will be the targets after the men and boys are eliminated from the societal structure.

Is it? Any of you FRiends on the ground in Arizona. I haven’t heard any reporting on whether Senema is getting carpet bombed with these images and statements we’ve seen the last few days and what the public reaction has been. Can anyone report from the front?

Don’t sweat Arizona. I mailed my ballot for McSally today and I am not a fan. My wife said she would crawl over rocks to vote against the Democrats. She watches CNN and Good Morning America and ranges from apolitical to a social liberal. She is angry as hell at what they did to Kavanaugh.

Sinema is either a moron or playing to lose. The things she says are worthy of mental retardation. She called us, her own voters, “stupid” and a political “meth lab.” She thinks it’s cool to join the taliban. This is a state full of John McCain supporting military vets. McSally is right up their alley. And Trump is coming here.

Trump is unpopular and beset by scandal

Since when was Trump "unpopular?" Last I checked, his approval rating is higher than Hussein's was at the very same time. That's been the case for at least 6-8 months. And "beset by scandal?!" WHAT scandal?! Do they mean the cooked up Killery Rotten/ Fusion GPS scandal that implicates Dims?

Ahem, excuse me but they need to win more than 23 seats to gain majority. Try more like 35 seats plus win all 7 vacancies!
NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!
