Taylor Swift has, admittedly, been reluctant to publicly voice her political opinions throughout her career. However, on Sunday night, a day after wrapping up the United States leg of her Reputation tour, she took to Instagram to share a lengthy post about the midterm elections in November.

I was waiting with baited breath for her pronunciation.

What did you bait it with? And how did she sound?

When I go to vote I vote for the people who will do stuff like lower taxes and keep the streets safe. I never take advice from celebs who make millions of millions and have no clue about living life in the real world.

Her popularity waning, she does this. Now she can look to joining the ranks of The Dixie Chicks and Eric Church. While her fans, avg age 12-18 may not care, the parents that buy the tickets just might. Oh well.

For any modern product of pop music who counts Lena Dunham as a friend, this decline into collectivist decadence was inevitable and predictable. I expected it before now.

Auto-Tune: the bane of authenticity. (Why did I bother to learn how to sing?)

While she was never a favorite of mine, I now have greater respect for Pat Benatar: real voice and real talent.

Does a guitarist just play any old note, and then let Auto-Tune pitch-correct it?

Taylor Swift did a Cost–benefit analysis on this Bredesen endorsement.

She figured she is no longer a Country Music Star but really a Pop Star so coming out as a Democrat will not hurt her album sales

It’s her “Dixie Chicks” moment.

When Taylor Swift released her new hit from the top of the Empire State Building live on my car radio, my daughter and her best friend were 10, and squealing that they got to hear it first... Now they laugh about her and her songs. Times change, so did Debbie Gibson.

Taylor Swift proudly stands for weird men to enter bathroom stalls next to little girls.

She might as well put on the pink pussy-cat hat.

And THAT is more important to her than this:

Imagine the messed up priorities.

Who cares about the economy?

Who cares about drugs and human trafficking and MS-13 and terrorists crossing the border illegally?

What MATTERS is letting cross-dressers enter the girl’s room.
