Democrat Senators Tester, McCaskill, Donnelly, Nelson and Heitkamp are discussing change of Kavanaugh vote tonight.

Changing her vote at this juncture is utterly meaningless. Someone would have to be brain dead to give her any credit whatsoever for it.

Scott has been leading Nelson since the Senate race kicked off and with the Democrats actions relating to Kavanaugh backfiring Nelson looks like he is in deep sh^t and will lose his seat to Scott.
The concern in Florida is DeSantis against Soros’ hand picked communist candidate Gillum. Desantis’ ads are stupid and weak. The saving grace is two fold 1) the democrats’ actions against Kavanaugh will galvanize more repubs. and independents to vote for Desantis and 2) in the primaries over 125,000 more republicans voted than democrats.

I don’t know about that. Their base consists of some really crazed people right now, but not terribly astute people politically.
Hearing that their sitting Senator voted the opposite of the day before might just confuse them enough that they just drop out and don’t bother to vote.
Others could be mad enough about the switch to skip their name on the ballot.
All of them are definitely in a lose/lose situation right now, which is why it was so important to get Kavanaugh confirmed before the election.
Now, if they hadn’t made such a stink and confirmed him unanimously, as they should have, none of this would have mattered. But it’s hard to put all that toothpaste back in the tube.

and the disgruntled white, middle class democrats will migrate to the right... and then the republican party split will get more apparent. the moderates will stake out what was once ‘the middle’ and the more true conservatives will probably keep the peace by allowing a subset in the party to have some say so... that is, the ‘tea party’ types.

I give it 24-30 years before we fully morph into a multi party body politic. but I think there will be some CW2 between now and then. and perhaps the crazies can all be locked up or incentivized to move away to other lefty safe zones in Europe or South America
