Grassley Fires Back When Senate Judiciary Dems Accuse Him Of Sharing False Information On Kavanaugh
The Daily Caller ^ | 03 Oct 2018 | Mike Brest

Posted on 10/03/2018 10:44:43 PM PDT by blueplum

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley is standing by his tweets supporting Brett Kavanaugh despite most of the Democrats on the committee sending him a letter demanding that he retract them on Wednesday evening. Responding to the letter, Grassley said, “Nothing in the tweet is inaccurate or misleading. The committee stands by its statement, which is completely truthful. More baseless innuendo and more false smears from Senate Democrats.”

The is for all the marbles with the Democrats. They’ve put everything into killing this confirmation.

They have become the true extremist party and are actually becoming quite dangerous especially at the fringes and its always ramping up further.

I think we are on the verge of a true revolutionary party that is going to be resorting to wholesale violence/terrorism on a constant basis at some point.

These people are insane where they are going.

"The Dems are seriously overplaying their hand, and based their “play” on a troubled woman.

This person is NOT a troubled woman.. She is a conniving, under handed, stinking lousy political operative who knows exactly what she is doing...
She has friends in the FIB and other high places who will cover for her.. But it WILL all come out eventually..

We need to start recognizing our enemy's for what they are, instead of what they pretend to be...

There is absolutely nothing to be gained by Republicans of any stripe commenting further on Kavanaugh.

The vote has been set, the time for talk is over, and stupid comments and tweets accomplish nothing and are just fodder for the Dems and their media buddies.

You know it has to be serious for grassley to fight back.maybe even he is starting to figure out the dems are not “friends across the aisle” they’re modern day nazis and stalinists who believe their pursuit of power justifies anything and everything.

To the extent that history repeats itself, your concern could be valid. The seeds of the revolution in Russia that blossomed in 1917 can be traced to 1899-1902 conditions. The dynamics of then and now are not dissimilar.

In any event, 650 law professors petitioning for a Kavanaugh withdrawal alone provides ample room for concern.

How our government responds in the next few years may cast the die.

No disrespect...but it’s seemed obvious for a while now. Under Obama the left went radically left, probably due to messages like “fundamentally transform America”, they’re now possessed by extreme anarchists and communists. The DNC is saturated with the BLM and Antifa types. They will not yield either, all empowered by the colluding media and brainwashed by academia. I’m noting that my leftist friends are much quieter lately on social media. How can they not be ashamed? They can see that is what everyone else is thinking. Any sane person is going to have a hard time voting Democrat - even if that has been their party to date. The sad part is, the extreme left doesn’t see what they’re doing to themselves.

To all straight white males that vote Democrat - WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING? The party HATES you!! If you think they won’t “come for you” because “you’re one of them”, good luck with that.

"There has been a long tradition of bipartisan cooperation regarding the handling of confidential background information on judicial nominees."

I guess this most recent DiFi episode shot that all to hell if it hadn't already been in the Bork and Thomas nominations.

Wait a second. I thought tweeting was unCongressional. You’re supposed to get your message out through the New York Times and pray that they report it and accurately. I’ll have to remember that tweeting is good and proper now.

Eh, that sounds like a good definition of a troubled person to me.

However, I believe she only thinks she knows what she is doing. Sort of like the Japanese planners who thought attacking Pearl Harbor was a good idea.

Grassley seems to me to be reserved and mild-mannered. To respond the way he did in this letter indicates how fed up he is with the leftists on the Judiciary Committee. I wish he had sounded this defiant two weeks ago, though. We wouldn’t be where we are today

The precursors of the RR go back even further than the Revolution of 1905.

Western ideas had undermined the basis of Russian nationalism and there were numerous radical parties by the middle 1800s.

Nihilism was the in-thing for decades and is extensively dissected in Dostoevsky in his novels especially in The Devils or The Possessed. He put it on the collapse of religious belief.

You may be correct about that, especially if you refer to our early several "radical" parties and the fact we experienced a bloody civil war by the middle 1800s.

I was looking at the more immediate and direct causal circumstances that led to the birth of Stalin's Russia, the end game of quite a time line of history. (Whether Putin's government will provide the opening move for his people of a new timeline is another matter.)

Those circumstances I refer to, are IMO more comparable to what we see happening here at the moment.
