My Flip Phone got it. Just, FYI. I get Amber, Silver and Severe Weather alerts, too. In bad weather the internet (satellite) and TV usually go down.

No, you don’t need an internet account on your cell phone, only to have messages enabled.
It came as a message. Or maybe it would pop up, even if you don’t have messages enabled. I do have messages enabled on my phone.

I got mine on my new phone and I keep my old phone charged and on because I like it better but it’s not on a system (I also keep it because any old charged phone can b used to dial 911). SO, I was shocked when I got the second alert on my old inactive phone and its wifi is not on.

Reminds me of the spoof alert we had when I worked at a radio station. "This is a test. This is only a test. If this had been a real emergency, we would have fled in terror, and you would not have been informed."
Thank God it never actually got on the air. The whole staff would have been fired and the place would have been crawling with inspectors from the FCC.
