Schedule and take the vote as soon as possible as planned in regular order. If Kavanaugh goes down, let it by vote, not by demoncrat tyranny!!

It has been pointed out, that McConnell will ask how each Rep. will vote. If he comes up short because one or 2 more go along with Flake’s suggestion, then he has no choice but to cave in. But he’ll have to make iron clad rules for what, who and how long the investigation will be allowed to last.
Since the Dems have pointed out that the FBI took 4 days during the Anita Hill investigation, then that should be more than enough time for this one and it should be limited to Ford.
But I hope it doesn’t come to that.

Jim, over the years you have proved yourself to be a very intelligent and insightful political mind… However, I wonder if this case it might be better to wait until Mitch McConnell has the votes to put Kavanaugh on the court?
I know the sausage making of this procedure is painful and the enemy is not without tricks… but if McConnell can get concessions… And guarantees within his caucus that if he gives the FBI “one week“ to turn up anything within a very strict framework… That he would have those peoples vote to put judge Kavanagh on the court… Would it not be worth the week?
I emphasize that McConnell should only consider the one-week delay IF and I repeat “if” he does not have the votes to confirm now. Apply the initial pressure… Get a headcount… See where you are… And proceed accordingly.
I believe Judge Kavanagh will be The most solid and conservative voice on the court for decades to come, that we could possibly have.

Murkowski, Collins, Flake, and Manchin all want a delay. So there will be one. Remains to be seen how long.
Tell them both how pathetic it is that we can (apparently) not even whip up a tie....and, that we see who is actually in control of Congress....RINOs and Dems.
You can always make them do what they said they will and vote against. All these people will be going against their constituents and Trump will not stop bashing them for the rest of their careers

The only scenario under which this makes sense is where Flake and the Bobsy twins give him commitments to vote yes on Kavanaugh one week from now, although their word is about as good as used toilet paper.

Flake needs to be assured all due diligence was done and that’s his price.
