The Senate Judiciary Committee voted to advance Brett Kavanaughs Supreme Court nomination on Friday after Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) secured a deal to delay a floor vote on the nomination for a week.

Doesn’t this effectively mean that even if Kavanaugh is confirmed that he can’t sit in the upcoming Supreme Court term (which start the first of October I believe)?
So it will be a 4-4 split for the entire term so the dems can forum shop all their causes to sympathetic judges and now that the SCOTUS will tie, leaving the badly decided lower court rulings in tact!
Yes it does. And who will Flake take down with him??
Chris Coons - who just finished speaking to the media - hinted "IF there are more allegations coming forward..."
You can just BET the 'RATs have many more tricks up their sleeves to delay and ultimately STOP Judge Kavanaugh's confirmation.
And Judge Kavanaugh's and his lovely family's Living Hell gets to go on and on and on....
Flake can wvote no but he cannot order a FBI investigation and he cannot control Mitch.
***************
He’ll vote no in any case.
The FBI has nothing tangible or factual to investigate.
Mitch should consider the implications of allowing endless delays — and just how this is going to effect the next nominee (if anyone is willing to endure this torture). This is setting a bad precedent for future confirmations. The Dems have politicized the entire process.
Moore was a joke
Is Flake an idiot? I thought the FBI could not investigate this, because it should be looked at by Maryland investigators?
Guess Flake wanted to be on the Sunday shows this weekend...
Me thinks he has skeletons in HIS closet.
Congratulations to Todd Akin for not withdrawing and giving the seat to McKaskill when everyone knew he was going to lose. Congratulations to the Republican Sec of State in Alabama for not delaying Senate vote and to those who supported Judge Moore when everyone knew he was going to lose. And so here we are. The investigation will not stop in a week. They will keep finding new crackpots that need investigating to take it to the midterms.
Exactly so.
Just vote. The victory here is getting to a vote because it is what the democrats fear the most. If they vote this guy down on mere allegations, the red state democrats are done.
Yes!
That was just Flakes personal preference for his final yes vote.
*************
His final vote will still be a No. That’s been his intention from the outset.
Flake secured no such deal.
do you know how machin from WV will vote?
Do you have a link for that?
I heard Flake talk and then heard the vote. Rush says that Flake said his “aye” was a “conditional” approval based on a week delay and an FBI investigation. Grassley didn’t acknowledge that when he called the vote. I did not hear that Flake “secured a deal to delay.”
But maybe that happened in the 35 minutes since I turned off the radio.
Vote. No more delays. If some Senators still say no that means they are evil and un-American. And have another objective. It is not Kavanaugh. The hell with Flake. Call their bluff and let the cards fall where they fall.
Rush said he heard that Trump said let them have their week. More 8-D chess. Let’s see Flake flake out on that with a no:-)
Sure expected the Judiciary Committee to vote for Kavanaugh this morning. Grassley should have demanded the vote not be delayed. The intervening time only allowed the RATS to conspire with a weakling RINO (Flake) to create mischief!!!
Certainly, hope and pray that Kavanaugh will be confirmed by next weekend. What in the world is the FBI supposed to be investigating when they have no legitimate facts on which to base anything???
If the FBI investigates, then it should also investigate Ford. After all, how much do we really know about her. At a minimum, we need to know more of her high school conduct, the affiliations of her family members and who is paying for her expenses.
