Judge Brett Kavanaugh & Professor Christine Blasey Ford Testify
The Senate Judiciary Committee hears testimony from Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Professor Christine Blasey Ford about her allegations that Judge Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while the two were teenagers.
Can anyone explain why this hearing was a better idea than simply voting Kavanaugh out of committee?

I was on two separate juries, each on month long trials. After the plaintiff wrapped up their case, I thought the defendant was toast. In both trials, I sided with the defendant.
Wait until we’ve heard both sides. So far, I’m not really concerned. It is expected that any reasonable person would believe her testimony if it stands on its own. The only exception would be a drug addled meth head or utterly arrogant narcissist.
Mitchell should have asked questions about how Ford got home. Did you walk? How long would car ride from the party to your home have been? Did you go straight home? Etc.
Looks like the left wing crazies are gathering around the Capitol now that it’s Kavanaugh’s time to defend himself.

So true, but like all the other “investigations” this is to give the reps the chance to show their side they “ care”
that said Lindsay Graham gave a great rebuttal interview while still respecting that “ in her mind” something happened and she needs help.

It should have been Barrett from the get-go. Tough for the Dems to treat a woman like they did Kavanaugh.
Kavanaugh could have then been nominated for RBG after the midterms when R’s have a better majority in the Senate.
