New letter from Ford’s team to Grassley as obtained by WaPo ( Among other things, slam McConnell’s speech as “inconsistent” w/ Grassley approach, push back on hiring of “experienced sex crimes prosecutor” (whose identity they don’t know)

I would guess that the prosecutor will try to draw as many details out the she can, but Ford is already on the record as not remembering. So, after dozens of questions where she answers "I don't recall", it's going to be odd for her to claim she's so certain it was Kavanaugh. She will have to provide some really good answers why she knows it was him, who introduced him to her, when did she first meet him, what was her first impression of him, why did she go to a house party with him, and so on. And what else did she know about him? What was he wearing? And then the prosecutor will have the same questions about each of the others she claims was there.
She will probably also ask a lot of questions about Leland Kelsey. Such as, after reviewing her statement that she never met Brett Kavanaugh and never went to a gathering as described, does she think Kelsey is lying?
You can be sure, the questions are going to be a grind on someone who has a weak story, and is unaccustomed to this kind of setting.
This kind of thing, even the legal language and process is Kavanaugh's profession, and he is among the best at it. He will hit a home run.
by sending the letter to Feinstein, Ford is ALREADY under felony jeopardy for perjury under 18 US Code 1001 Section (a)(3)
if anything she WROTE and submitted can be proven to be false
she can be prosecuted and if convicted be fined and spend up to 5 years in prison.

You might be right. But if they lost their house to foreclosure he wasn’t very liberal or much of an attorney in DC. I think it shows just how selfish Prof Ford is. I didn’t know her but I know many of the judges friends from high school. I believe the judge would never have been at a party with Dr. Ford. he hung in the Catholic School scene like I did.CBF and her group wouldn’t have gone to our parties. Especially small parties.i once had to set off a smoke alarm to clear a house.CBF seems to have been a much bigger partier then our crowd. We were squares and nerds. We had jobs and had to pay our way. I had to sew my own clothes.CBF had private diving coaches that probably touched her more than any guy at any party.

I’ve been trying to figure out Grassley’s weird 2nd trombone tweet since he posted it. Turns out most major solos for trombone in classical music were written for 2nd chair trombone. One of most famous is in Scheherazade....named for the woman who made up stories.

If that were ever enforced they would have to bar the doors of the Capital...and burn everyone alive.
If they start charging perjury just for lying in the Senate that would set a bad precedent. That would really clean house.
It is entirely possible that all of the accommodations that Grassley is giving were never supposed to be part of the narrative - perhaps she was never supposed to testify with the excuse being those “11 Republican men” were being mean to her and support sexual assault. They are now having to come up with more reasons to get that narrative in place - and that ridiculous ‘revelation’ about a drunken party at college where no assault is even alleged and the person making the allegation can’t even confirm what she ‘remembers’ even occurred to begin with or that Kavanaugh was even present was designed to “put off” this testimony even further because the situation was getting too serious, etc.
I keep going from one extreme of thinking this is blowing up in their face to thinking we are sunk the next. Let’s just get to the vote and see how this is going to turn out once and for all and get it over with.

are there any democrats on the committee who will be questioning her? if so, don’t you think they are going to scream and holler about any question asked by the repubs which might reveal anything about her past or motive for coming forward now, and would scream that repubs are just a bunch of misogynists attacking an innocent woman traumatized by this vile man named Brett?
the dems on the panel are going to run interference for her, and holler that any question that might reveal the true circumstances of what she thought happened was beyond the pale for gentlemanly behaviour.
