Christine Blasey Ford, accuser of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, agrees to Senate testimony about sexual assault claim

• Christine Blasey Ford, a California professor at the center of a sexual assault accusation against U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, has agreed to testify to representatives of the Senate Judiciary Committee sometime next week.
• The details have yet to be worked out, but it could mean the end of a lengthy and emotional political fight that has stalled Kavanaugh's nomination.

  Dr. Ford accepts the Committee's request to provide her first-hand knowledge of Brett Kavanaugh's sexual misconduct next week. Although many aspects of the proposal you provided via email, on September 21, 2018, at 2:33 pm, are fundamentally inconsistent with the Committee's promise of a fair, impartial investigation into her allegations, and we are disappointed with the leaks and the bullying that have tainted the process, we are hopeful that we can reach agreement on details. Can we set up a time for later this afternoon to continue our negotiations?

The confidential background check has already been completed by the FBI, filed with the Senate Judiciary Committee and cannot be reopened simply because Dr. Ford’s complaint is public and would affect Judge Kavanaugh as if he was in jeopardy when he cannot be placed in jeopardy; for the FBI to do so would violate the laws of constitutionally guaranteed procedural due process in violation of the 5th and 14th amendments, illegally infringing the liberty of Judge Kavanaugh,

The letter is not an acceptance letter because the request had implied terms that Ms Ford will not agree to.

The true translation of the legal weasel words that her lawyer used is: I WOULD agree to meet with the Senate committee, accept that I do not accept the terms of the Senate committee and therefor will not show up for a hearing on those terms.

Grassley should read the legal response of Ms Ford correctly, as a rejection of his request to her.

It says she will ‘provide her firsthand knowledge’ but it doesn’t say how. It says she will do so ‘next week’ but doesn’t say when. And it says the rest of the terms are still up for negotiation. It ‘accepts’ nothing at all, but the language is very carefully calculated to give her credit for having accepted.”

The accusatory statement by Ford’s two weaselly attorneys should be grounds for a Bar Association investigation.

When they said that “( re Ford) to provide her first hand knowledge of Brett Kavanaugh’s sexual misconduct”, they made an accusation into a “factual statement”, not proven by anything so far.

This is slanderous, defamatory, and possibly libelous.

Time for honest lawyers to file unprofessional conduct charges with the DC Bar Association and the American Bar Association, as well as the other national legal associations they are members of.

No judge would ever let this smear statement be allowed to stand in a court case, would have it expunged from the record, and would give both lawyers an stern warned about unprofessional conduct, or find them in contempt of court.
