“On Monday, after the storm had passed, she said she got a call from Wayne Countys animal services manager Frank Sauls regarding the animals.”
I’m beginning to think our country would run better with no government at all.
Idiotic bureaucrats.
I’m sure a lot of people did things that were technically illegal under the emergency conditions of the storm. To jump on this person who donated so much effort on a technicality is ridiculous. They should give HER a medal and FIRE the asshole bureaucrat behind her persecution.
Sauls sounds like he needs an attitude adjustment or just plain fired.
Better Call Sauls
a few choice words.
That is a bunch of BS and area residents should tar and feather whoever is threatening charges.
This kind of bureaucratic over-reach needs to stop and the only way to stop it is for the citizenry to let their voices be heard and publicly embarrass officials involved.
It worked against the officials in that small western Oklahoma town and the cop who gave a ticket to a 3-yr-old for peeing in the yard. After the public outcry, the mayor issued a public apology and retracted the ticket.
Wayne County, NC needs a reset. And at least one county employee needs to discover the unemployment line...the animal shelter manager. Stupid people should not be employed by the county. Unfortunately, though, stupid people are often elected to office.
Ahead of the storm, Wayne County made its shelter available to the community to bring their pets. Hedges said some people had trouble getting in contact with the shelter to make arrangements while others didnt want to take their animals there.
And this, children, is why socialized healthcare is bad - like with public schools if you do something better than the government you will be punished for it.
She did not have a license for doing a good deed in an emergency. What was she thinking?

And any said judge agreeing to a warrant can be recalled.
what charges??
If I was one of the owner’s that had dropped my pet off to be cared for and found it had been stolen by animal control I would be livid. I would question whether the lady sheltering the animals even had the authority/permission to surrender the animals since their legal owners had not relinquished any claim on them. That being so I would argue that the animal control officer had no right to seize the animals. The only thing he should have done was contact owners to let them know to pick up their pet or make other arrangements. JMHO.
The city manager should be chained to a tree in his backyard the next time his city floods.
This tyrranical govt stopping good people doing good things, is another reason why cwii will start one day.

Again, only if one needs additional information on this subject.
She should prepare a bill and present it to the county. She should state that the county animal shelter and its manager were grossly negligent in performing their duties and a citizen was required to perform their duties. The county should evaluate their animal shelter manager and fire him if necessary.
There is another problem here besides authoritarian bureaucrats.
