ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. The mysterious closure of a solar observatory in southern New Mexico earlier this month happened after the FBI started opened a child pornography investigation involving a janitors computer found at the observatory and agents tracked wireless signals used to access child porn, according to an FBI search warrant affidavit filed in federal court.
The mountaintop Sunspot Solar Observatory closed for from Sept. 6 to Sept. 17 but the research association that manages it has said only that an unspecified security issue was the reason for the closure. The facility employs a small group of scientists, researchers and students to capture some of the sharpest images of the sun available in the world.
The search warrant filed last week in federal court the city of Las Cruces said the facilitys chief observer, who was not identified, told FBI agents in August he found a laptop computer with child pornography several months earlier but did not immediately report the discovery to authorities because he was distracted by an unspecified urgent issue at the observatory.
The search warrant provided to a judge the justifications of agents so they could search computers,

I dont believe it.
The entire town was evacuated and empty...for child porn?? Even the conspiracy channels on Youtube were laughing at this explanation. You dont need Blackhawk choppers to find child porn.
I’m not buying this excuse . . .
All that effort & weaponry over Child Porn? No way.
Our alien overlords got busted in front of God & Everybody. This is a coverup.
I dont either, its the modern equivalent of a cop planting a small bad of cocaine in your car.
Doesnt explain closing the post office or the six other buildings.
Its also an instant character assassination and they know no one runs to the defense of someone thy smear with it.
Too much other stuff for this fake charge to work.
I thought they found a dirty bomb - a nuke.
Child porn from outer space?
No, I kid.
Seriously, it does seem like any time the Feds want to shut down a place or a person, there’s a child porn or pedophilia accusation.
Some freepers might disagree but I don’t think you need armed Blackhawks to find child porn and protect children.
Rog Blake?
at 11:30 the discussion goes to the closed down observatories around the world.
Why does the janitor have access to the satellite with the child porn on it?
I don’t see anything in the article that says anything was found. There are only accusations. Given what has been going on with the FBI lately, I am not willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Show proof or shut up.
Something smells very FBI like about this.
Translation: Bull excrement.
Uh-huh...surrrre. Nothing will make most folks back off a weird situation like simply mentioning “child porn”. Ok, yep, I’m outta here.
.... Hmmm ... Why would they evacuate the whole mountain of all of it’s residents just for this? Too many assets for a simple task, Probably installing and calibrating some kind of new surveillance tech under this guise.
Janet Reno did.
I call BS on this from A to Z. Why would - even if were true - the FBI come in en masse and shut down an entire solar telescope facility because they found some perv’s laptop with child nudie pics on it? They’d show up, arrest the guy, do a sweep of the other computers, and duck-walk out the door with the perp in charm bracelets. He was the janitor, for crying out loud. How much access could he have had to the network there? They haven’t arrested anyone else, so it looks like a porn ring wasn’t an issue. Something about this smells. Either the FBI stepped in it in their execution, or they’re deploying good, old-fashioned smoke and mirrors to cover up a bigger situation. I don’t think it was aliens or solar flares, I think it might have been the Russkies or ChiComms hacking into our system for some cloak and dagger, and they may possibly have had someone working on the inside with them. The janitor did it with a candlestick in the server room.
Granted, but obviously this isn’t a need to know for any of us so let them have their cover.
Nice Blake’s 7 reference.
Ping.
