Senate Republicans strongly signaled on Wednesday that they will forge ahead with embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaughs confirmation as his accuser called the rush for a public hearing next week unfair.
GOP senators who fretted earlier this week about the prospects for President Trumps pick are now largely pushing for a vote on Kavanaugh, who is accused of sexually assaulting now-professor Christine Blasey Ford when they were teenagers, amid signs that she may decline to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee. And Trump is more convinced he should stand by Kavanaugh than he was two days ago, people close to the White House say.

Is that a Hitlery double?
She looks like Clinton’s stage double.
Maybe liberal fascism has a common genetic component.
He is not “Embattled”. The Dems have made him “embattled” with their lies. Dr. Ford is a liar.
Funny how the ‘rush to have her testify” is unfair to her after she has supposedly known about it for 36 years, had her life ruined by it, talked about it 6 years ago, had a couple months to prepare since she sent the letter, and Kavanaugh only recently ever heard about it but can be ready to defend himself......
The word they’re looking for, here, is “slandered”. Maybe “libeled”. But they won’t use that word, because they’re part of the slander machine.
As far as I can see this is being falsly reported as he wasn’t really accused of sexually assaulting Ford. He was accused of closing the door and holding his hand over her mouth. At the most that would be regular assault, not sexual assault. My understaning of sexual assault involves the perpetrator touching someone in an inappropriate place. She did not allege that he touched her anywhere that is off limits. The thoughts in her head that he intended to rape her do not confirm any intentions on his part. People can think anything.
I do not think this incident happened at all, but even if it did, a teenage boy will push until he gets a no. That is not victimizing someone, it is empowering her to allow her to say no and leave the room unscathed. Alleging PTSD is ridiculous in this scenario, and damaging to women who have had real experiences with sexual assault.
Embattled? WTF? These people are just assinine
“embattled”....
Uh huh...
I do not think they care much what it means. It sounds sexy. That’s how low the media has sunk.
You don't give scum an almost an additional week to come up with another 'Ho' or another reason for delay.
The newsies are already starting to sing their 'Über Alles' in that regard. Too much time. Should have gotten an immediate commitment or a vote.
As ole 'cue ball' Carville said about, "Dragging a dollar through a trailer park...." ... they're draggin'.
maybe “besmirched” would be an appropriate adjective? millenials wouldn’t understand “ borked”
I thought he was supposed to be voted to confirm today.
What happened? Thursday, right?
Vote and confirm and give the left something else to pitch a fit about.
At some point they were going to go ahead no matter what.
But then things were changing every half hour.
I just hope they get their act together nd vote next week.
I think the republicans should start digging up dirt from the dems on their high school years.. release it all right before the midterms.
