At todays third and final day of Judge Brett Kavanaughs appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee, once again the argument over the quantity and origin of documents erupted, and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) faced off for a third day. As Booker delivered a lengthy set of remarks about his own actions, Grassley sharply smacked him as self-aggrandizing.
Sen. Booker stated that he was going to release to the public one of the documents deemed confidential, despite the fact that this would violate rules. And then he said it again. And then some more.
Sir, I come from a long line, as all of us do as Americans, understanding the consequences of civil disobedience. I am, right now, before your process is finished, I am going to release the email about racial profiling.
I knowingly violated the rules that wer put forth, and Im told that the committee confidential rules have knowing consequences, said Booker. So, sir, I come from a long line, as all of us do as Americans, understanding what that kind civil disobedience is, and I understand the consequences. So I am, right now, before your process is finished, I am going to release the email about racial profiling, and I understand that the penalty comes with potential ousting from the Senate. And if Senator Cornyn believes that I have violated Senate rules, I openly invite and accept the consequences of my team releasing that email right now. And I am releasing it to expose that number one those emails are being withheld from the public have nothing to do the national security. Nothing to jeopardize the sanctity of those ideals that I hold dear. Instead, what I am releasing this document right now to show, sir, is that we have a process here for a person the highest office in the land, for a lifetime appointment. We are rushing through this before me and my colleagues can even read and digest the information. And I
Can I ask you how long youre going to say the same thing three or four times? Grassley finally interrupted.
No, sir, Im saying, Im saying Im knowingly violating the rules, Senator Cornys called me out for it Booker went on.
Okay, how many times are you going to tell us that? said Grassley.
Im saying right now that Im releasing committee confidential documents, Booker said again.
Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) took a swipe at Booker as well, saying that running for President is no excuse for violating confidentiality.
Ouch.
It went on from there. Watch the clip above, courtesy of Fox News.
Boot him out of the Senate.
Can Senators be arrested for treason?
Republicans won’t do a damn thing about it.
Only in time of war, and not if it was done on the Senate floor............
These ‘Booker’ type Democrats are the future of his Party - get used to it ... unless we finally have a much need ‘divorce’ in this country ... but neither side wants to compromise on that either ...
...shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their attendance at the Session of their Respective Houses, and in going to and from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.
Agree.
Meanwhile, Kavanaugh giving some very swampy answers on abortion under Linda’s questioning.
He’s black and won’t be touched.
He’ll get a letter of reprimand and told don’t do it again or else we’ll send another letter in all caps...........
“Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) took a swipe at Booker as well, saying that running for President is no excuse for violating confidentiality.”
That will leave a mark!
Booker is a turd
Yeah, but that doesn’t rise to the level of treason.
I have a feeling that as Booker continues to crave attention, before the hearings are done he will stand up and expose himself.
He’s playing to his base, that is crazier than he is................
Then on to the full Senate?
Precisely. There is a question whether Booker released info that was in fact confidential or just claimed the info was confidential so he could show us his big-boy pants, but regardless, he did it because he could. Because there are never any consequences for left-wingers. Never.
The Dems can delay the vote..............for a while............
