Michael Hayden, the former director of the National Security Agency (NSA), warned Thursday that impeaching President Donald Trump would have unintended consequences and could further delegitimize the intelligence community.
Hayden, a frequent critic of President Trump, told Hill.TVs Krystal Ball and Buck Sexton that he believes impeachment would be a bad idea.
If President Trump is somehow forced to leave office before the end of his first term, one-third of America will believe it was a soft coup conducted by people, well frankly like everybody here at the table would be their view, Hayden said. I think the only way we move beyond this in any way thats healthy for our democracy is we vote, the Obama-era intelligence official added.

Cities like San Francisco have people using the streets as a toilet...
I think there is something else going on. Like the Clap, Hayden is deeply compromised and is worried that if it’s “war,” he and Clap will be the first casualties.
The coup happened on Usurpation Day, January 20, 2009 with the full cooperation of both parties, the CIA, FBI, NSA and all the other spooks.
What is happening now is the struggle to restore the Constitution and the rule of law.
Wait you ignorant POS we already did that and you lost. The fact you don't accept that is the problem.
“our democracy”
We are a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy.
Afraid that the FBI, NSA, and IRS have lost most of the respect they had.
As for congress, that pile of excrement has been detested for years.
If they remove Trump, the die is cast, and we’re going to have to do something about clearing the swamp in a more persuasive fashion.
“...Soft coup?...”
0bmmmmma thinks that’s a rubber room to keep chickens in.
“Soft coup” my a$$. It’ll be the treasonous overthrow of the government. There will be no law, no Republic, no restraints. Ready on the left, ready on the firing line, fire at wil.
BTW, it was only one-third of the colonists who defeated the British.

You mean like Civil War II?
And tanks, and A-10s, and USMC rifle companies.
And what great optics that would make if they ever used them against Americans on American soil.
“..Im getting the impression that all this impeachment nonsense isnt playing well with the Democrat party focus groups and polling....”
Bingo. Nail on the head.
They’re trying to walk that rhetoric back, because polling data is telling them people don’t want to hear it. That doesn’t mean they won’t TRY it once - IF - they “seize control” again; it just means they’ll be more covert about it, instead of opening their pie holes and spilling the beans.
It’s not off the table; they’re just trying to put it back UNDER the table until the elections.
More like 2/3 of America , Mr Hayden
Sounds like someone took a long look in the mirror and considered the consequences of losing his security clearance
I recently saw that they’re hiring 6 folks at $70K a year to clean up the crap.
If the military is on the side of the coup, you will not gain from the bad optics.
The only optics you will see is soldiers handing out candy bars.
He reveals he agrees with the goal, but not the strategy.
The democrats cannot impeach Trump through actual conviction
I dont believe we have 67 traitorous Senators to uphold them
If all of those openly carrying citizens showed up on the mall, the left might be misled into thinking it was an attempt at intimidation.
