The Rev. Gregory Livingston, of New Hope Baptist Church, said Mayor Rahm Emanuel (D) has "blood on his hands," and is allegedly "sitting on" millions of dollars in Department of Housing and Urban Development funds that could be helping the affected neighborhoods.
"Rahm's words do nothing for that family," Livingston said of a mother of a 17-year-old shot and killed over the weekend amid the violence.

"Trump, send the National Guard down here. Give us a breather so we can figure this out. Yes, let's talk, bc we have to make some changes here.

Funny, we all had such high hopes for Obama’s hand-picked ballerina.....(who’s got the pic?)
Why?
You kept the democrats in power for 60 unbroken years.
Now eat your peas.
Trump should not send the National Guard to Obammie-land. Under no circumstances. He would be falling into a trap, as this is exactly what Rahm and the Rats want.
If the Rats want to clean up their own mess, fine. Let them. They created it, they own it.
Is there a problem? Gun control is working just fine in Chicago. Just fine....
Gee, I’ll bet Trump plays it just right.
WWG1WGA
Chicago?
I thought they were referring to Eisenhower’s Operation Wet Back.
This is a local criminal law problem, not a federal civil rights matter. Let the cop haters and the soft on crime suffer the consequences until they change who they vote for.
The pastor should address his concern to the governor and ask for him to deploy the Illinois Nat’l Guard. That is the first step before calling on the Feds. If the Guard is not successful then declare insurrection and ask for feds to fulfill constitutional responsibility
Wouldn’t that be a violation of Posse Comitatus?
This would be an incredible mistake.
The Chicago police need to deal with this. This is nothing like what Eisenhower did. The NG troops were sent in to keep the peace, and diffuse what could be an explosive situation.
Sending the NG is in effect, sending them into a war zone. The dems would LOVE to see troops sent by President Trump open fire on poor, oppressed minorities.
The National Guard are NOT peace officers.
Mark
During the Obama Administration, ZERO signed EO overriding Posse Comitatus! Not sure if Trump has addressed this or not, may need to write EO changing the order.
can’t the governor call up the guard
Yup. They would dump the whole problem on Trump, and accuse him of being a racist to boot. He would be blamed for everything that has happened and everything that will happen.
As if Donald CARES about that. I think it’s time to stop fretting about political dangers to Donald. He eats them with Wheaties for breakfast and comes away smiling.
Do you see Obama returning to the South Side of Chicago soon? He's worth north of $50 million now. You think he's going to redistribute his own wealth with the folks in the West and South Sides of Chicago? "Reinvest" into his old stomping grounds?
When things turn to crap, the finger is always pointed at the Federal Government for not disbursing enough funds, or not paying for this program or funding that job training program, etc. ALL OF THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM.
Get rid of the welfare state and drastically reduce taxes and none of this crap would be happening now. Black men fathering six kids by four different women would become more responsible and get a job. Secure the borders which would eliminate the drug trade.
Hate to admit it, but I think you’re right. I’m glad the Black pastors have called on Trump to act, but there are so many ways that can go wrong it would be a NO WIN situation for him.I say this as someone who grew up in Chicago and finally moved to Arizona with wife and new family in “82. All my adulthood was there under the Daley Political Machine, which was bad enough> The reign of Emanuel is just an extension of the Jr. Daley’s regime-—none of them addressed Chicago’s gang problem, and I’m not just talking about black gangs, but Hispanic and White. The Chicago cops have always been “tough on crime” but in a totally misdirected way, and with no rhyme or reason, or even a semblance of a consciously crafted program to deal with it.Instead stuff happens like firing 16 shots into that kid on the street who was stupidly lurching down the middle of the street, unarmed, and an apparent threat to no one. I am referring to the famous video that Rahm knew was incriminating, and so, decided to withhold it till after the last election.
