U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) sent a letter to Bank of the West President and Chief Executive Officer Nandita Bakhshi pushing back on the banks decision to no longer conduct business with companies engaged in the exploration and production of coal, oil and natural gas.
Bank of the West, headquartered in San Francisco, CA, has 23 branches with dedicated employees who work hard to serve communities and families across Wyoming. In his letter, Barrasso condemned the San Francisco headquarters attack on Wyomings communities and businesses that depend on fossil fuels for energy security, jobs and economic growth.
This misguided and politically expedient decision is a direct attack on hardworking families in Wyoming and across the country that depend on fossil fuels for energy security, jobs and economic growth. While it may be fashionable today in San Francisco to exclude states like Wyoming from your lending plans, it will do little to discourage us from pursuing our best future on our terms

What do you want to bet that she drives a car?
And they really think they will punish somebody by doing this?
Some other lending outfit will simply step in and take that business from those corporations. And what we are talking about here isnt just peanuts.
UN Agenda 21 ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
Other banks, private equity, etc. will easily step up.
Just some lefties in Gay Frisco going crazy.
Some questions come to mind:
Does the bank use fossil fuels; do they run on electricity generated by fossil fuels?
Do they have any company cars which run on fossil fuels?
If they have electric cars and are proud as a company they have electric cars, are they aware that the electricity to recharge their vehicles is generated in fossil fuels power plants, in many places?
Do their employees have fossil fuels powered cars?
Do their employees live in homes powered by fossil fuels?
Just how far do they go with this feel good policy?
Also, do they do business with customers, who have business relationships with fossil fuels companies? For example, if you go in the bank with a paycheck from a coal or oil company, will they reject your business?
Hey bank executives: get the hell out of Wyoming and shut up.
Bank of the Wests climate change stance is generating response in other communities, like Moffat County, Colorado, which, like Wyoming and dozens of other states, produces coal, oil, natural gas...
The Craig Daily Press reports that Moffat County commissioners are discussing withdrawing county business from Bank of the West. Also, the banks local branch manager and vice president, Stacy Razzano, resigned out of protest after 27 years with the company.
First they came for Alex Jones and Infowars
Then they came for the bank
.....then
Hah! Enviro-Nazi Bank of the West is run by idiots with a death wish for the institution.
HQed in SF. Owned by BNP Paribas of Spain.
Shareholder lawsuit?
Bet she operates a computer. They are made of plastics.
That would be a good start.
And bank regulators in every state where their fossil fuel rules discriminate against businesses might consider acting upon them. Don't close them, just fine the heck out of them and give them plenty of bad PR.
That would give the shareholder suit just cause to act.
We have never been a client/customer of this bank 40+ years of living in Californicator land.
Yesterday, we receive a huge multi color thing asking us to be customers. Too bad I threw it away.
It’s time to run “Bank of the West” out of Wyoming (and other states) on a rail.
BANK OF THE WEST IS OWNED BY BNP Paribas ...... a French international banking group.
Bakhshi doesn’t care about Americans.

The bank has fiscal responsibilities, if they choose this path their depositors need to know. This is the bank’s responsibility. If you think they are wrong don’t deposit your money in their accounts. I don’t like banks, I use credit unions.
