Washington (CNN) Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the top law enforcement officer in the country, participated in a chant of "Lock her up" Tuesday, reviving a rallying cry from Donald Trump campaign events calling to jail Hillary Clinton.
Sessions was addressing a conservative group's high school leadership summit in Washington, where he promoted free speech and conservative principles.
~snip~
Then chants of "Lock her up" broke out.
"Lock her up," Sessions said, chuckling at the brief interruption from the audience as the chant then grew louder.
"I heard that a long time over the last campaign," he said before continuing with his prepared speech.

ACTIONS BEAUREGARD
NOT WORDS/CHANTS.
So, why doesn’t he?
He is THE ONE WHO CAN. So, JUST DO IT!
Oh, no! He’s gonna have to recuse himself on any Hillary Clinton prosecution!
Why recuse himself? He can just quote Strzok and say he is not biased. The Dems would believe it, I’m sure..........
Same thought, Holder the most irrelevant AG in history.
But he does NOTHING.
We need him back in the Senate. Boot Jones out of there.
That ship sailed during his confirmation hearing, January 2017.

GRASSLEY: During the course of the presidential campaign, you made a number of statements about the investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, relating to her handling of sensitive e- mails and regarding certain actions of the Clinton Foundation. You weren't alone in that criticism.I was certainly critical in the same way as were millions of Americans on those matters, but now, you've been nominated to serve as attorney general. In light of those comments that you made, some have expressed concerns about whether you can approach the Clinton matter impartially in both fact and appearance. How do you plan to address those concerns?
SESSIONS: Mr. Chairman, it was a highly contentious campaign. I, like a lot of people, made comments about the issues in that campaign. With regard to Secretary Clinton and some of the comments I made, I do believe that that could place me objectivity in question. I've given that thought.
I believe the proper thing for me to do, would be to recuse myself from any questions involving those kind of investigations that involve Secretary Clinton and that were raised during the campaign or to be otherwise connected to it.
GRASSLEY: OK. I think, that's -- let me emphasize then with a follow up question. To be very clear, you intend to recuse yourself from both the Clinton e-mail investigation and any matters involving the Clinton Foundation, if there are any?
SESSIONS: Yes.
The article makes it seem he wasnt participating in the chant, nearly repeating the words after they were chanted. Go back to sleep, Jeff.

Half the frigging Government seems like it’s engaged in trying to overthrow our President, blatantly subverting justice and bringing our citizens to the point of Civil War - and this doofus is speaking to High School students.
If I ever attend a function where a senior member of this administration is present, and they have a question and answer session, I will ask, “Why isn’t Hillary in jail?” Hopefully if enough of us will ask, Trump and those around him will get the message.
Why do you think the President is stupid?
Guess who else said it but never did anything about it?
That’s right. Donald Trump. He used that awesome debate zinger “because you’d be in jail” but since then, when has he ever led us to believe he would actually try to lock her up? Never.
If you go back and listen to his rallies, when the “lock her up” chants start he listens with appreciation but never IIRC does he say anything to affirm any intention to actually lock her up.
When people chanted “build the wall”, he would ALWAYS follow the chant with a statement such as “yep that’s exactly what we’re going to do folks, we’re going to build a big beautiful wall....and who is going to pay for it? ...Mexico!!”
When there were chants of “drill baby drill” or whatever, he would follow them with an affirming statement.
Does anyone know of a case where he followed the “lock her up” chant with an affirming statement? I do t recall any and I watched all the rallies.
No, I had the impression he liked the enthusiasm but he always stopped short of making a promise to lock up her or any other of Obama’s minions.
Trump’s actual campaign promises are formally written into the platform and written policy statements - but there has never been a single word written where he promises to lock anyone up. Yet I keep hearing people say he promised to lock Clinton and other democrats up.
I really don’t think he believes that is what “draining the swamp” means. Ending the corruption, yes. Exposing their crooked dealings, yes. Branding the Democrat party as self-serving parasites, yes. Ending abusice regulations and taxes, yes. Sending lobbyists home, yes. All these things will “drain the swamp”, but actually locking people up? I don’t think he ever promised that.
And he sure doesn’t seem too interested in making it happen. As everyone repeats ad nauseum, his AG isn’t locking anyone up and he’s still got his job a year and a half later.
I think people have to accept that draining the swamp means something else to Trump - he doesn’t want any parts of criminally prosecuting the opposition party.
I think he may be right to stay uninvolved with leveling criminal charges against his political enemies. It may be more difficult than meets the eye to seperate crimes from dirty politics - it could backfire politically if it’s just seen by the public as a political vendetta against the democrats.
I’d like to see them rot in prison - but I don’t think we should expect Trump to run a purge - then get accused of being some sort of authoritarian dictator.
Gee I thought he was a myth! I see he does exist.
Just DO IT, Jeff.
I don’t think he knows who the chant is about.
LOL
No, no we don't...no more useful idiots for the deep state.
