For ten hours Thursday, FBI Deputy Assistant Director Peter Strzok gave riveting, compelling and, at times, farcical testimony before the House Judiciary and Oversight committees. ...(snipped for excerpt size)
The lowlights included Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas). In a contentious back-and-forth with Strzok, whose well-publicized affair with a colleague resulted in the discovery of damning politically charged text messages, Gohmert questioned Strzoks fidelity, blasted his smirk and condemned his conduct as a disgrace.
Gohmert, How many times did you look so innocent into your wifes eyes and lie to her?Not to be outdone were Strzoks defense attorneys the committees Democrats. As if saying Hold my beer, here was Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) who lavishly praised the witness before adding this comical, but, for military veterans, highly insulting pièce de résistance, If I could give you a Purple Heart, I would.
The Purple Heart, established in 1782, is Americas oldest military decoration. George Washington awarded the first one. One earns it by being wounded in combat.
Yet, for all the partisan grandstanding, it was Strzok, whose voice most of America had never heard, who delivered the most noteworthy performance.
From his opening statement, a copy of which the Associated Press obtained a day prior, Strzok came out swinging. He fidgeted, appeared uncomfortable, but there was perceptible defiance in his voice as he plodded through his opening remarks.
Parroting Democratic talking points, he dismissed the proceedings as just another notch in Putins belt because, as you know, congressional oversight of the FBI is such a victory for the Kremlin.
His testimony devolved into a laughable defense of the indefensible. His perpetually smug countenance disappeared, at times, when GOP lawmakers questioned the blatant political bias of his text-message exchanges with former FBI attorney Lisa Page.

The scene I remember was from Open Range where Coster and Duvall walk up to the bad guys and Costner says to one guy “You the one who shot my friend?” The guy basically says yes and Coster draws and fires - BOOM! At least no smart ass answers from THAT guy anymore!
sometimes in govt they promote people up to get them out of their hair..I could see this a$$ clown as a poster child of that.

Sad but true.
That issue where he was trying to state that the FBI lawyers were his personal attorneys tells us all we need to know about the abuse of the Justice Department.
I like that one but this is the one that nearly nuetered Kevin Kline.

Good article. I wrote the FBI off as a corrupt organization in the early 90s. Everything that has transpired since has been confirmation that I was correct.
I understand now. For some reason I missed Silverado.
Heck, J. Edgar Hoover was still head of the FBI when I decided they were untrustworthy! For goodness sake, he was head of the FBI from 1924 - 1972, dying while still leading the FBI!
“Later in life and after his death, Hoover became a controversial figure as evidence of his secretive abuses of power began to surface. He was found to have exceeded the jurisdiction of the FBI, and to have used the FBI to harass political dissenters and activists, to amass secret files on political leaders, and to collect evidence using illegal methods. Hoover consequently amassed a great deal of power and was in a position to intimidate and threaten sitting presidents.” - Wiki
Need to check Strzok for evidence of adrenochrome ingestion.
You are right but I was not paying much attention to tyranny until later on.
With characters like Strzok representing the upper echelons of law enforcement; America doesn’t need any any enemies to keep it on its toes. These leftists are the bottom dregs of the barrel to be sure. They’re smug and arrogant because they they are true believers in their cult-like belief in the almighty deep state government. Wray and Rosenstein have the same look and behavior. Eric Holder did too so it’s easy to see what cloth they are cut from.
It would be sad and pathetic if it weren’t so dangerous to every single American. Once bias has taken root, regardless of which side it may be, the republic is in dire danger of failing from the top down. These people are the very reason the 1st and 2nd Amendments exist. One expects bias from politicians but for career government workers it must be left at home. Never brought into the workplace.
Is there anyone here who doesn’t want to slap those smarmy smug smirks into next month?
Lack of self awareness is a classic sign of a personality disorder. At this time, I cant speculate as to which disorder or combination of disorders, but I feel quite confident you will find him on Cluster B in the DSM V.
Good Lord... Is that an actual clip of Strzok at the hearings?
If so, that is one batshit crazy mofo.
Ignore the blond bomber behind him.
Maybe I can just squeak one out here...
Clearly he didnt realize that his facial expressions made him look like a homo.
OJ Simpson is like that too.
Another one who belongs in the pen.
