Democrats are fighting among themselves over how far to go to oppose Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and tempers are starting to flare ahead of a decision that could weigh heavily on the midterm elections.
Liberal activists, who are closely aligned with the partys base, are losing patience with centrist Democrats who are on the fence over Kavanaugh, a judge with impressive credentials and the approval of the conservative Federalist Society.
But Senate Democratic leaders dont want to twist the arms of vulnerable colleagues up for re-election in pro-Trump states, adding to the disappointment of activists. Theres a great deal of frustration, said Neil Sroka, spokesman for Democracy for America, a liberal advocacy group that is pressing Senate Democrats to unify immediately against Kavanaugh.
We need to be training all of our firepower on Murkowski and Collins and we don't need to be wasting one shred of energy trying to push a Democrat in the right direction on this extremist nominee, he added, referring to moderate Republican Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), who are viewed as potential swing votes. Theres great deal of impatience amongst the grassroots for senators to get off the fence on Kavanaugh, Sroka added. Liberal activists argue that if Democrats unify early against Kavanaugh, it will put more pressure on Collins and Murkowski to oppose him, just as they opposed efforts to repeal ObamaCare in 2017 after Democrats unified against that effort. Were looking for more clean statements of opposition from more senators, said Elizabeth Beavers, associate policy director at Indivisible Project, a liberal advocacy group dedicated to defeating President Trump's agenda.

Should you call your D Senator opposing Kavanaugh?
Doug Jones, Alabama, is a Schumer wind up toy who knows his time is up the next regular election. He is a no vote.
We want the Red State Democrats to vote yes and still lose. :-)
Amen.
Gotta revolution, got to revolution.

The irrational exhuberance of the far left is pissing into the wind
They are wetting themselves
It’s delicious, isn’t it??
All dems are going to oppose this good family man because they are afraid he will take away their precious f*cking abortion, which they worship.
I vow to you that I will never vote democrat for any reason at any time.
Wrong. We want Kavanaugh approved and we want red state Dems defeated.
rat fight!
Meanwhile Rosenweasel has tasked an army of FBI prosecutors to dig up dirt on Kavenaugh to help the Ras.
The REAL QUESTION here is why is the mainstream media even running articles like this - and in thinking about it, maybe to let their rabid base understand that Wellesley voters won’t be helping Senators get re-elected in Montana and North Dakota.
And just who is this so-called base. If the democratic "base" that they are pandering to is their freak-show, they are toast.
The Democrats are in a box of their own creation.
It is a joy watching them twist and turn trying to find a way out.
Piece of rat scat that one.
Saw a good analysis regarding the dilemma those 10 or so D senators are facing and the probable makeup of the Senate next year. It goes like this:
a) If a red-state D senator votes for Kavanaugh, they lose their DNC support and will probably be replaces by a R this fall. This virtually guarantees that Kavanaugh is placed on the USSC.
b) If a red-state D senator votes against Kavanaugh, they will most likely be defeated by the electorate and be replaced by a R this fall. If the Rs stick together, Kavanaugh will be seated.
In both scenarios Kavanaugh is seated and the Rs gain seats in the Senate. How many seats will be gained is debatable but 4-6 is a good number.
Thanks to ‘Dirty’ Harry Reid the Ds are well and truly screwed. They will soon to be in a position where they will be totally unable to stop DJTs next 1-3 USSC placements. A 7-2 or 6-3 conservative court is totally possible within the next three years.
He owes the Democrat leadership big time as they put a lot of money into the race to help him win. Yes, he knows he has no future as a Senator when this term is up.
No, they won't.
They're going to back the Rat candidate and say that Collins/Murkowski is still "too extreme" for Maine/Alaska.
Republican "moderates" is the biggest joke in politics.
