Judge Brett Kavanaugh has impeccable credentials & a strong record of upholding the Constitution. He is widely respected as a fair, independent & mainstream judge. I look forward to the Senate moving forward with a fair & thorough confirmation process.
That’s was my first thought.
McCain is first and foremost McCain, the Democratic Maverick.
as he is still trying to get his wife a Senate seat.
**************
Curious.... How do you see that happening? If he resigns or
dies in the next few months it will be an appt by the current
governor. Do you think the governor would appt Cindy McCain?
I didn’t think she was that much into politics but maybe she is.
Maybe Trump should reconsider Kavanaugh... There must be something wrong with him.
This can only mean one thing...
Trump obviously lined up all his confirmation support beforehand. This pick was a concession to the Bush wing of the GOP. A win since Kav is right of Kennedy, and a tactical punt to ensure victory in Nov.
Sadly, the drama never got off the ground. Can others sense the lack of opposition energy - basically, no one can even really manufacture any fake outrage.
The long summer is upon us. Oh, what are we to do for entertainment?
Entertainment?
You mean 40,000 sealed indictments and half the Dems in DC at military tribunals aren’t enough?
Then show up and vote for him.
McCain has had no change of heart. His approval is basically a sure sign that Kavanaugh is a centrist...

Or McCain thinks he can best Trump at his own game.
McCain HAS to be aware (if he’s aware of anything, that is) that Trump’s base considers him to be garbage on two legs. Therefore, by approving of Kavanaugh he could be trying to turn Trump’s base against him by making us question his pick (and there are enough posts in this thread - including my own, that show this is working).
Maybe we need to have more trust in Our President rather than this demented old idiot who might not even be alive.
I can live with a party in which the McCains of the world who vote 75% of the time with the majority make up its “liberal” wing
Someone else is speaking for him.
Until they succeed in giving away the country to fraudulently documented foreigners.....
Nope, in the Foster case,, he wanted to pierce attorney-client privilege, he was a white hat.
Amen!
McCain will return to D.C. in time to.vote.
Then show up and vote for him.
********
McCain hasn’t voted since Dec. 2, 2017. There
have been 27 votes and he’s missed all of them.
He’s been absent seven months or so.
I am worried that Kavanaugh favors the deep state over the 4th amendment, as in Klayman v. Obama and the NSA.
I hope he is able to cast an affirmative vote if we need it. Hang on a little while Senator McCain.
in my opinion ... this is a grand master chess move by Trump. He nominates someone to the right of Kennedy... and yet not toooooo right.. he lours a lefty like RBG to retire... and then WHAM! game over for libs :P
