Trump completes interviews of SCOTUS candidates, as list shrinks (Kavanaugh, Kethledge and Barrett)

President Trump has completed the interview process for Supreme Court candidates after speaking with six judges, a source with knowledge of the selection process told Fox News – with three finalists in particular leading the field.

The president and his vetting team have moved quickly ahead of an expected announcement on Monday.

While liberal advocacy groups and others are gearing up for a major confirmation fight, Trump is charging ahead with an imminent decision to fill the seat of retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy, and potentially move the court more solidly to the right.

Fox News is told that Trump has interviewed six candidates: Appeals court judges Brett Kavanaugh, Raymond Kethledge, Amy Coney Barrett, Amul Thapar, Joan Larsen and Thomas Hardiman. The interviews comprised seven conversations – Trump talked to one candidate twice.

Multiple sources indicated Kavanaugh, Kethledge and Barrett are currently the focus of attention.

"Multiple sources".

Could be anybody. Could be deliberate. Could be leaks. If leaks, find them and fire them.

For now, I don't care and am awaiting the President's announcement. Endless speculation is a key attribute of fake news. It's a way to stir people over ignorance, bias, or conjecture.

I think Mike Lee was on the short list of Never Trumper delegates that were promising to go rogue at the convention and overturn the vote for Trump.

except her adoptions weren’t American kids which makes her look like she adopted them for virtue signaling or political purposes, whether or not that is the case

There are several good reasons to go abroad for adoption. Virtue signaling isn't one of them. Parental age and long waiting lists are a problem in the U.S. Underlying that is the fact that we kill most of our unwanted children and slip many of the remaining easily adoptable kids through private adoption programs where money talks. Too many of the children who are available are special needs kids, are older, and/or have spent years in unsatisfactory foster care situations. And then there is the insanity of the U.S. legal system, with demon crackhead moms waiting in the wings to reengage as soon as they get out of the slammer. Going this route is called "buying a problem." It can be a lot simpler and safer to just go abroad, and get a clean, final adoption of a healthy infant with no nightmarish strings attached.

“And then there is the insanity of the U.S. legal system, with demon crackhead moms waiting in the wings to reengage as soon as they get out of the slammer.”

Exactly our experience. We had him from 6 weeks to 2 years of age, fully intending to adopt. Then the social workers and the crackhead birth mother upended it all when she got out of prison. From sporadic contact we had with his grandmother, he has learning disabilities and other issues, that have not been addressed. He has been in and out of his sister and grandmother’s homes,so much for keeping him with his mother.

Somebody posted on another thread that her kids are adopted from Haiti, sort of leftist “virtue signaling.”

“Women are hardwired, to “Get Along’.”

I didn’t get that memo. I’m always causing problems and not getting along. Oh well ... glad to know I’m different.

But I do think that for the most part you are right. Men can disagree and not take it personally. Most women I have met do. So they either try not to disagree or they end up mad at everybody.
