So now Senate seats are offered to family members. The Constitution truly is a piece of parchment paper in a museum. I cry for this great republic!

The Kenyanesian Usurpation should have made that clear.

That has been the traditional pattern, when a male Senator dies.

IIRC, that is how Missouri's McCaskill got her Senate seat.

IIRC, most states empower the Governor to name someone to serve out the term of a deceased or incapacitated Senator.

But if Maverick John McCain is really wanting a Trump nominee to succeed, then raise your umbrellas because there are flying pigs overhead.

Spouses have been allowed to take the place of a Senator who has become incapacitated. It’s not all that unusual.

We don’t like it here because John has been such an ass. We want to be done with just about anyone associated with him.

The Founding Fathers did not intent senators to be elected through popular vote.

The Forefathers of this great nation left a continent filled with despotic governments based on hereditary political leadership, and created something new and revolutionary. Today I am against anyone following in the “family business”, if the family business is government. Time to stop this nonsense.

What's also alarming is the number of people at all levels of government all the way down to the local levels, are related to each other. It's really wide spread and very disturbing from my perspective.

It is a shame when Zimbabwe rejects Mugabe’s frg wife to take power but we in America consider embracing this corruption

It's nothing new.

"....Plenty of women have inherited their husband's seats before - 47 to be exact, 8 in the Senate and 39 in the House. But according to Debbie Walsh of the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University, in all those instances the woman took over the seat after her husband had passed away..."

This will be a little different in that her husband is still alive but apparently barely so?

I live in Congresswoman Debbie Dingell’s district. She married the relic John Dingell. That qualified her to run and get his seat.

He spoke at the library where I worked and Dingell was aware of his surroundings, his eyes followed movement well and he hardly ever drooled on his necktie.

Able to always vote yes for Dem bills. Stayed in Congress a few more years but then gave it up. Qualified to stay as long as Diane Feinstein.

Besides, where does it say in the Constitution, a governor can't appoint a wife until the election? "I cry for this great republic" - What a drama queen.

You do understand it is temporary, correct?
