"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show," ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said Tuesday.
ABC, in a stunning move, has decided to cancel its Roseanne revival following star Roseanne Barr's racist tweet Tuesday. "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show," ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said Tuesday.
Early Tuesday, star, head writer and exec producer Barr attacked Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to former President Barack Obama, in a since-deleted tweet in which she said "Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj." Barr subsequently apologized: "I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me my joke was in bad taste."
Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Iger also weighed in on the decision to cancel Roseanne: "There was only one thing to do here, and that was the right thing," he tweeted.

Barr's tweet prompted a massive outcry across social media, with thousands condeming the actress-comedian's comments and calling on ABC to cancel her series. The Disney-owned network's decision to cancel the comedy marked the first time the network has taken action in response to one of Barr's controversial tweets.
Axing the Roseanne revival was no small decision for ABC.

Do you think she could have been threatened?

doubt it, it’s canceled..
Smithsonian Channel is partially owned by CBS.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.
Unfortunately, if you watch enough Aerial America, you'll realize the whole production is made by libtards.
Leftist Politically Correct Hypocrisy bump for later...
I saw that Tweet this morning and knew she was in big trouble - not shocking at all. The statement was wrong and can only be condemned. That said, I think ABC was uncomfortable having a show with a pro-Trump person in the first place...even if the ratings were good. I think they didn’t want to legitimize Trump supporters by having one on TV, and this was obviously the perfect time to cancel. They couldn’t otherwise due to ratings and support. Look what they did to Tim Allen’s show, and he’s not even controversial. He stays off of social media and says little.
It’s unfortunate for the cast and crew. I didn’t agree with everything on the show, but it was interesting, and I saw every episode. I’ll miss the show.

As for Washington, he's underselling himself. There's a lot of accuracy in this painting. He just doesn't know it.
LOL
Hey, I like that.
I Dont see why this is so offensive. Is it just me or did anybody else think the Zira character From planet of the apes was kind of attractive.
Isn’t she a self-proclaimed socialist? She ran for president on teh Green party, if I recall correctly.
I also seem to recall Sanders people who supported Trump.
So, I think you’re right in saying that she’s not a conservative.

From the same network that airs the race-based comedy series, “Black-ish.”
Jarrett’s a red diaper doper baby.
Roseanne was right to point out the Muslim Brotherhood connection, but I think what the lefties objected to was the “Planet of the Apes” reference.
Of course, it didn’t bother them when people on their side called GW Bush a “smirking chimp” or when Wanda Sykes called President Trump an orangutan. (BTW, since that is an exchange between a white Tweeter and a black Tweeter, why isn’t that racist?)
No, it only bothers them when the Communist is attacked. Says a lot about them.
I'm sorry, but that shit was funny (and accurate). Have you seen the mug on that woman?
I dont care what anybody says, I still think Kim Hunters performance as Dr. Zira was sexy.
Oh I know there’s no escaping it unless one wants to live as a hermit like the Unabomber.
Check out Jarrett and her family’s history as well as that of her former husband and his leftist father, Vernon Jarrett (who may have worked with Frank Marshall Davis in Chicago).
