This 1967 entry is from one of the more interesting albums from Motown, where one of their signature groups was permitted to go outside the usual boundaries of Hitsville USA. That’s Mel Franklin providing the bass voice.

I think everyone has recorded this song at some time or the other. My favorite version is the man who sang it in the musical with Kathryn Grayson. He had a beautiful voice.
