I don’t think he can. Remember most of the employees can’t be directly commanded by the president or his appointees. Civil service boards are the only body that can

After reading the breaking stories in the last few days it should be obvious why Sessions HAD TO recuse himself and maintain a complete hands-off approach to this whole thing. He was targeted by the illegal surveillance himself.

Let me see if I understand it.

The person who was surveilled, Jeff Sessions, "had to" recuse, whilst the person who did the surveilling, Rod Rosenstein, is not recused and put in charge.

Huber is not conducting investigations directly. His limited role is to “make recommendations”

Yup.

Expect no rocking the boat from Sessions.

One who needs to wake up is president Donald Trump and use his executive authority to fire ALL useless subordinates in DOJ, FBI & DOS. I have a feeling he will do just that after the mid-terms are out of the way.
***********************************************************
Already underway. Jan. 23, 2017 - Hiring Freeze

3/16/2017 Executive Order For REDUCTION in Force and REORGANIZTION of all EXEC Dept and Agencies.

4/12/2017 - OMB memo requiring all plans submitted for the Full year 2019 Budget - That will begin this year. Instructions are to merge, eliminate, and restructure.

The attached gives the details and on pg. 5 is a flowchart that shows the scheduled implementation:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/whitehouse.gov/files/omb/memoranda/2017/M-17-22.pdf

Trump doesn’t dilly dally. He’s a business man, and knows about getting rid of useless departments and employees.

You’re using circular logic. You’re either being purposefully obtuse or it’s not worth trying to explain it to you because you clearly don’t get it.

The way I read it, Huber, in concert with Horowitz is indeed conducting an investigation with instructions to recommend to the AG and or DAG for prosecution or appointment of a second SC.

Huh?

What surveillance was Rod Rosenstein conducting during the 2016 election campaign?

So, the person who was surveilled, Jeff Sessions, "had to be recused", whilst the person who did the surveilling, Rod Rosenstein, did not have to be recused and instead was put in charge?

What surveillance was Rod Rosenstein conducting during the 2016 election campaign?

The surveillance during the campaign continued after the campaign into the Spring of 2017. Rosenstein signed off on a FISA application in the Spring of 2017.

Why was it okay to put Rosenstein in charge while Sessions had to be recused?

Yes, a good businessman with eye on bottom line, must examine hirings, thank you for the details. However Trump has not fired Sessions & Rosenstein & Mueller. Those are the 3 who needs to go. It will NOT happen until mid-terms are out of the way.

As a target of the surveillance during the 2016 campaign, Sessions is a victim and a potential witness in any prosecution related to illegal FISA surveillance. He would have a clear conflict of interest if he had any involvement in prosecuting the case.

I don't see how that would apply to Rosenstein.

If my posts are confusing it’s probably because I am not doing a good job keeping track of who I’m responding to in my various posts on this thread. Sorry about that. LOL.

I understand that and been messed up with that. When I get time I will detail the circular logic I see and see if you can convince me session’s is good.

Rosenstein isn't a potential witness and a potential person who may be charged in a FISA surveillance prosecution??

How can you not see that?

OK. Keep in mind that I'm not here to defend Sessions ... just to point out that the "conventional wisdom" among a lot of folks isn't based on any actual concrete evidence.

I've been ambivalent about Sessions and Rosenstein for more than a year now. I just don't have enough solid information to figure out what they're up to.

He couldn't be a witness (you can't call a member of the prosecution team as a witness for the defense), and if he's a potential DEFENDANT then that's a different story altogether. That's not a reason to recuse himself ... that's a reason for him to retain his own lawyer and resign immediately.

DOJ RESPONSE

Yes, Mr. President Trump, the DOJ did illegally surveil your campaign. Mueller had a large part in the illegal activity.

Mueller will also investigate that once he is finished his coup-de-etat against Mr. President Trump.

Thank You Mr. President for your interest in the matter.
