Another article has him getting better. Perhaps another 6-12 years of Juan ‘Songbird’ mccain.

McCain. Many people go on book tours pimping their own book. He goes on a death tour pimping his own death

The Arizona voters are largely to blame. They kept reelecting this Manchurian senator WAY PAST his flatline date.

Indeed...it’s long past time for the POS to retire. People like him treat their senate or representative seats as though they were lifetime appointments instead of elective office. Even if we can’t have term limits, there ought to be something in place that mandates if a member of Congress is no longer able to perform their duties, they are required to retire.

I believe that most of us have been ticked of with McLame being in the Senate for a long as he has been.

It is an open question as to when, if at all, McCain will return to the Senate. His staff is still handling constituent services, but he is missing votes, hearings, and all other obligations. He is not doing the job. He cannot do the job.

....and yet, McCain is still supposedly issuing statements saying he doesn't want President Trump at his funeral, he opposes Gina Haspel's nomination for CIA director, he wants to name his own successor, etc. Makes you wonder who really is making these statements under the pretense of being John McCain.

Members can only be expelled for disorderly behavior

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gladys_Spellman had a stroke and entered a coma , but got reelected 4 days later. congress called her seat vacant.
She lived four more years.
Btw, Steny Hoyer was her replacement in special election.

Maybe it’s time to convert the Senate into an old age home.

McCain last left Washington in December of lst year and he HASN’T RETURNED and he HASN’T VOTED in the Senate. He likely NEVER will return to the Senate alive.

Once he has died he may well be moved to Washington for burial and to be LIONIZED AS A GREAT SENATOR and patriot. Which is, of course, akin to lionizing him as on of the GREATEST AMERICAN PILOTS.

This is where I insert the obligatory disclaimer about McCain being a hero and praise his military service and sacrifice. It is not just a formality, it is actually true.

I stopped reading there. Derek, if you want people to read your articles don't write nonsense!

And anyone who writes anything about him that is even remotely negative has to preface what they with this disclaimer. But again, this is not about him.

Just want to add a comment about this statement by the author. Why? Despite the cheapening of the term hero in our time, McCain is not a war hero. Yes, he served in the Navy. Yes, he was shot down in Vietnam, captured and endured several years in captivity. But all of that does not make him a hero.

Also, McCain's service was another lifetime ago. The majority of his life has been spent as a senator, and not a very good one. Certainly not a heroic one, which belies anything said about him being a hero during Vietnam. So I don't see any reason why it is necessary to preface anything negative one has to say about McCain with some babble about him being a war hero.

...or they think the republic will not survive without them. It will.

I'm sure McCain main focus and drive is finding ways to blunt Trump and save ourselves from Trumpism.

That makes him a hero? Right ? At least in his own sick mind.

We elect people, not gods, and we elect them to do a job – represent us.

I'm also sure he would disagree...since he's trying to extend the reign of his kingdom by keeping his seat in the family...

Dems are famous for showing up at old age homes to rack up votes. Wouldn’t surprise me if, no matter how sick he got, they showed up to get his votes. All in secret, for medical privacy & dignity & whatnot.

Not surprised if they elect a “flat Johnny” a card board cut out to take his place when he’s gone
