Mueller raised possibility of presidential subpoena in meeting with Trump’s legal team
Washington Post ^ | May 1, 2018 | Carol D. Leonnig and Robert Costa

In a tense meeting in early March with the special counsel, President Trump’s lawyers insisted he had no obligation to talk with federal investigators probing Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential campaign.

But special counsel Robert S. Mueller III responded that he had another option if Trump declined: He could issue a subpoena for the president to appear before a grand jury, according to four people familiar with the encounter.

Mueller’s warning — the first time he is known to have mentioned a possible subpoena to Trump’s legal team — spurred a sharp retort from John Dowd, then the president’s lead lawyer.

It was shocking to see just how the GOP was so full
Of enemy collaborators 2008 and 2012 and throughout those entire eight years. Starting with the GOP candidates and of course Congress

Your negative opinion of Drudge is totally correct!

Matt Drudge is a Trojan Horse Rump Ranger posing as a conservative. I haven’t been to his worthless site in years. I suggest others do the same.

Wasn’t it Eric Holder that ignored subpoenas, obstructed justice, and lied continually?

Yes it was, and not a gdamn thing happened to him.

Trump should do the same. Tell Mueller to stick it up his ass.

I just want the best for Trump. Not a tv guy. Yes i am aware of his specialty. Pretty sure he is outside his core competencies. You don’t use a bankruptcy lawyer in a tort case for example. You don’t use a tort lawyer as a criminal defense attorney. Etc.

Little Bobby Mueller has painted himself into a corner and is looking for a way to extricate himself from his mess by causing President Trump to fire him. Mueller is going to catch hell and death threats from the Communist Demokrats if he doesn’t get the President of the United States “impeached”. Just my opinion.

If the Compost wrote that the sun rises in the East, I would seriously question my firmly held beliefs on this matter.

This BeezlebubBlog isn’t even good bird cage liner.

He doesn’t answer to the President and he doesn’t answer to the Congress. He is a 4th Branch of the Federal Government. How is any of what he is doing legal?

The GOP wants to lose at midterms, because if they don’t they will have to vote on impeachment proceedings in January.

Which they will vote to impeach.

Rush laid it out perfectly, IMO.

Trump should tweet (since the DNC media won't cover it) that he is willing to sit down with Mueller and answer any questions he might have.

As long as he gets, in writing, the same deal Hillary got.

And then remind everyone, point-by-point, just what kind of deal that was.

What can Mueller, the libs and the MSM possibly say in response?

for the most part, i don’t think the “leakers” actually know stuff, they just think they do, or they’re just making it up, or the leftist fake stream media themselves are making up the “leakers” ... it’s obvious the leftist fake stream media have already completely abandoned all putative standards of conduct in their implacable quest to “get Trump”, so I see no reason to believe they’re not also fudging “leakers”, and if you’re gonna fudge that, why not go whole hog and fudge having a WHOLE BUNCH of fake “leakers”?

to make myself clearer in my earlier post, i should have said:

“my guess is pretty soon they’ll be claiming FIVE fake”sources”

And yes, if this was just one country, you could do that and it could happen in that manner.

But this is not one country. It is two completely separate countries living in the same geographic space. The two countries, I’ll call them the Normal Country and Totalitarian-Wish Country, are relatively (in a very general sense) equal in size and power. They are simply waiting for the spark that turns everything into chaos and open warfare - a test of the strength of each “country”. In our situation, this you describe would be that spark one side. Impeachment would be that spark on the other side.

Trump, like Lincoln before him, represents one of the two “countries” but is trying very hard to hold it together...maintain the union. I give him, at best, 50-50 odds as the two “countries” here really have no common understandings or common beliefs that would allow them to exist as one unit.

Giuliani is “leading” this team. Sekulow, like any good lawyer, is basically thinking/arguing like the prosecutor from what this article is stating. This guy is rated as the top DC lawyers for the last 30 years and excels at Constitutional law.

Trump always seems to come out on top. Guess I can leave it at that. Giuliani is of course top shelf.
