A new California pro-LGBTQ bill that would ban the sale or distribution of materials related to conversion therapy easily passed the states assembly on Thursday.
CBS News affiliate KOVR reported the final tally was 50-14. Assembly Bill 2943 now heads to the Democrat-controlled Senate.
The bill would make it an unlawful business practice to engage in any transaction intended to result or that results in the sale or lease of goods or services to any consumer aimed at sexual orientation change efforts with an individual.
Goods would include any books or written materials, while services would encompass counseling individuals seeking to address same-sex attractions.
According to the Los Angeles Times, One key part of the debate centers on whether Assembly Bill 2943 would stretch beyond businesses that charge for (conversion) programs and extend to printed documents, even Bibles.

My Daughter has been traveling for work recently and always expresses her disappointment when a Bible doesn’t come with the room.
It is long past time to split up the US into free states and totalitarian states.
The nazi is strong with this one.
Clearly unconstitutional. Yet the Courts are paramount in claiming their legitimacy from that document, while otherwise acting as if it didn’t exist.
In every generation, in every society, a band of fools always proves Romans 1:18-32 true once again.
Maybe I missed a connection? Please enlighten me.
Perverts of all types engage in efforts to lure others into their lifestyle - especially young people who are under their influence.
So would the law be used to stop them from distributing materials used to convince others that their lifestyle is normal?
Now we don't want to offend the abortion lobby, so Psalms must go, and Proverbs, too. And the Gospel of John because of exclusiveness ("...no one comes to the Father but through Me" - puleeze).
We'll get back to you on the rest....
And all sharp objects removed from the state.

Exactly- the left are constantly trying to convert straight people into gay people- but by golly don’t try to convert gay people who may be unhappy and WANT to change to Christianity and moral lifestyle
This is of course totally unacceptable and unconstitutional, but Californians could still buy the books in Nevada or Arizona and go there for a therapy if they wanted to, couldnt they?
Let's hope so!
This is book banning-—period.
When I grew up some books were “Banned in Boston” and Boston was a laughingstock city and the butt of many jokes.
We seem to be going backwards.
No printed material should be banned. Ever.

Bump - - hey, there’s a lot of conservative people in California, including the owner of this website.
Follow the money. The LGBT community in California are some of the biggest political donors in the state and nationwide for the Democrat Party.
If this does happen, I will remove or cross out a star on any American flag that I fly. I argue with myself, daily, whether to do it every day.
But I know who I would ally with should I be asked to.
It most certainly is a disorder. My daughter is battling with gender dysphoria and her life is hell. She wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Nothing “natural” about it. Her adrenal system is completely out of wack. Cancer is a naturally occurring phenomena, but we treat it!
A clear violation of the first amendment:
- freedom of speech
- freedom of religion
- freedom of assembly
California Progressive Socialism will regret the insane actions they have embarked on. The sane, taxpaying citizens will all leave the state and leave that so called nirvana in a world of hurt.
