Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has been in talks to join the President Donald Trumps personal legal team, according to a person familiar with the matter. No decision is currently final.
A slew of foreign policy matters which Trump has had to deal with has slowed the process of expanding the president's legal team, according the person familiar with the matter. Trumps time has been absorbed by North Korea and Syria, which has limited his availability to speak with potential new members of his legal team.
Giuliani did not immediately return a request for comment. But he is a close ally of the president, having campaigned closely with him during the 2016 election. Giuliani gave an impassioned speech in favor of Trump at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

I read a few weeks ago that Rudy wasn’t in good health and the reason he’s not any more involved than he is. True?
Thanks for that image. lol.
Appoint him AG.
Mueller is trying to use his witch hunt (and the prospect of ending it) as leverage. He wants Trump and whatever white hats that are in the FBI/DOJ to leave McCabe, Comey, and the rest of the Deep State alone.
“In talks” has moved to “done deal.”
It was only a couple of weeks ago that it was announced that Rudy and his wife are divorcing. I wonder if she had anything to do with keeping him from working in the Trump administration.
...be more like the front of the head like George Constansa’ dad did when he found out George sold his cruise shirts.... (Seinfeld)
Shew, about time Rudy showed up. He’s way late. I hope they put him straight into the game. Trump, “Jeff, you done OK so I’m going to give you rest. Take the seat at the end of the bench, RUDY, you’re up, now get in there and take out the tall lanky one!”
That was my first thought....on why he held back. But Guiliani has something else....people he knows and trusts in the Southern District of NY, FBI etc etc.
He’s in a New York state of mind.
Whatever Rudy does for the president, I hope he is better prepared and more discreet than Michael Cohen. Cohen seems to talk way too much to the press, and reacts too predictably when criticized. Cohen apparently had lots of physical tapes of pre-recorded conversations stored in his office that was raided. He should have anticipated Mueller taking that step.
This has been going on for a year.
The president needs better lawyers. I understand many of the top lawyers have declined to represent the president. Possibly, due to his reputation for spontaneous tweeting to the public in ways that could undermine a carefully crafted defense.

I’ve had thoughts along those lines myself. If that’s what he’s doing, I hope he’s in for a very bad day, very soon.
And I really haven't heard him talk to the press.
And this has nothing to do with the Mueller investigation.
Rudy and his wife just split up, so probably wants to stay busy.
Step one anyway if Sessions is drained.
exactly - and Rudi takes no prisoners
Just found that.
Let’s hope he plays hard ball and no holds barred. I’m sick of the other side having their way all the time.
They’re dragging this out to keep ANYTHING from getting done until the midterm elections.
And that’s the ONLY reason.
