Moscow will shoot down any U.S. missiles fired at Syria and retaliate against American launch sites, the Russian ambassador to Lebanon has warned.
Ambassador Alexander Zasypkin made the comments on Tuesday while speaking on the Hezbollah-affiliated al-Manar TV channel, Reuters reported.
President Donald Trump is currently considering military action against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad following Saturdays suspected chemical attack on the rebel-held town of Douma near the capital city of Damascus. Medical relief groups say the attack killed dozens of civilians.

I didn’t know we had a treaty with the Kurds to go to war for them under certain circumstances.
Would LOVE to see the document :)
Agreed. Now if we had tons of Prime STEAK in Syria, I could see duking it out ;)
We don’t.
There is NOTHING to be gained by this, except enriching the Sauds and bringing European gas prices down later on.
Anyone here like the Sauds OR W Europe lately?
Their Konkurs anti-tank missiles demonstrably work just fine.
“Say when”—Said Doc Holliday to Johnny Ringo in Tombstone.
“I honestly cant comprehend your violent hatred for Russians and your desire for WW3. Syria is NONE of our business.”
State and DOD now saying evidence not only Syrians involved but with Russian assistance.
It is Putin who hates the Russian people, allying with Iran, NKorea, Assad. This will not lead to WWIII and the Russians will not do jack.
If they miscalculate and do anything they will be defeated rapidly and lose Billions of arms deals.
You assume that the Russian administration actually cares what happens in Ukraine enough to use their military to force it.
The Ukranians have already proven that they can't govern their way out of a wet paper bag. Nothing is going to improve the country short of Russia coming in and actually establishing a reasonable government. They won't do this of course, because even if quality of life improves 10x, they will be "occupiers" and universally denounced.
Tritium decays to helium-3. Tritium can be PRODUCED FROM lithium-6 by neutron activation.
Do the Russians still have techs they can trust to do that? For thousands of weapons?
I certainly wouldn't bet against it...
Several people have responded to my comment with a flurry of inferences. My statement was three little words. Three completely accurate words.
I suppose people can infer from them whatever they want. For the record, I was speaking academically. i.e. the fact that there is risk is, on its own, irrelevant. And, again, for the record, I don’t think we should be messing around with anyone elses civil war. If it spreads outside of Syria, as Germany did on September 1, 1939, that is when we should get involved.
If the IED goes off a little early, you’ll find him at the fried chechen takeout place on the next corner.
Yeah.
Because you have to be physically in the Senate to vote.
Look, I don’t give a single damn who did the gas attack.
We are NOT the world’s police and it is NOT our business what goes on in countries that we don’t like.
If it were then we’d be in Venezuela, Honduras, Brazil, and almost every Muslim, African, and Asian country.
The ONLY reason we’re in Syria is Qatar’s gas pipeline.
PERIOD.
Ultimately, in all conflicts, force is the deciding factor, so ...
The one that that applies the bestest force, the mostest, wins.
And I know which one that is.
There is no winner in a nuclear exchange.
Sure there is, it's just the one most people don't recognize.
It’s about damn time we get this Armageddon on!
We have a LOT of cannon fodder sitting in jails right now.
So is CHOICE.
A lot more heads and limbs get RIPPED OFF by that big vacuum machine.
Sometimes chemical warfare is used inside the womb; too.
Beslan should have been carpet bombed for Beslan.
All of the muslim Gulf and mideast should have been nuked after 9/11.
Putin is not our ally. The enemy of my enemy...
