Well, he had to back off on that to get Trump’s support when his seat was threatened by Paul Nehlen. Once secure, he had no problem undermining the guy who helped him.

Great point. POTUS plays ball and endorses these bums. Then all he gets is FU’s in return. These people are scum. I hope POTUS goes back to “Drain the Sewer.” It’s much more appropriate than Drain the Swamp.

“Thanks, Paul Ryan. You’re a member of the triumvirate of traitors most responsible for backstabbing us....John Roberts, John McCain, Paul Ryan “

I’ll give him his props though...he didn’t let any gun control go through.

TODAY?! That would be even better move for such fantastic news. Will McConnell also do so? It would be nice to have Republicans and Trump get new leadership in both houses for a couple months. If they can’t pass his agenda, it’ll be Dems in charge after November.

His exit would be a blow excellent news to the Republican party ahead of November’s mid-term elections.

Fixed it. Now if the Turtle steps down, we can MAGA.

I might go and suggest that he’s got some backer who wants him to primary Trump in 2019. I could see Ryan having some appeal in two or three states, but it’s marginal affect across the nation itself.

It won’t matter who replaces him as there has never been a speaker who is well liked. Hatred goes with the office. Name one speaker in recent memory who was well liked. Now we have to worry about keeping the majority. Anyone as speaker is better than Pelosi.

Just heard a conservative commentator (KVI in Seattle) say the reason is that probably If the GOP Keeps control of the house it will only be by a few votes and Ryan just doesn’t want to be the one dealing with this.

He’s never been able to govern from the Speaker’s position. Why qualify. He’s never been able to govern! The GOPe he became, or may have always been, after running with Mittens, ruined him!
