If @realDonaldTrump asks me to deploy Oregon Guard troops to the Mexico border, Ill say no. As Commander of Oregons Guard, Im deeply troubled by Trumps plan to militarize our border.
Theres been no outreach by the President or federal officials, and I have no intention of allowing Oregons guard troops to be used to distract from his troubles in Washington.
Thanks a lot! I can't get that picture out of my mind.
“Ill bet its a problem to shave a 200lb. beaver!
Thanks a lot! I can’t get that picture out of my mind.”
Yeah, I have the same problem. Some wise a$$ sent me a cartoon showing a woman with a beaver (the animal) sitting on the sink all lathered up with the caption: “ Sometime’s men make the strangest requests!”
And yet the media has been reporting om the army that has been marching North towards the US. 1500 people all at one time seems like far more than what Border Control could manage all at once.
I have seen that several times and have laughed each time.
Shell wish. She is a Communist!
Put all apprehended invaders on military transport planes and give them a one-way trip to the Salem, Oregon, airport.
The guv can deal with all of her new ‘constituents’ as best heshe can.
But microchip them first, so they can be returned in case they get out of her state somehow.
I was wondering about that. I entered the state of Oregon about 4 hours ago for the 1st time in my life. Driving through the middle of the state to reach Eugene. It sure is beautiful in the way of landscape. Sorry they have such a lame governor. Maybe that will change.
We'll just see who has the power to deploy the National Guard—as opposed to the State Militia.
Whose authority is final in a question like this?
Seems like during the segregation days, Governor Wallace had to back down. Obviously Governor Wallace's orders were superseded by the President's, correct?
Weren't the National Guard units used during that tense historical moment in Alabama National Guard? Or did they come in from some other state?
from Wikipedia:
On June 11, 1963, George Wallace, the Democratic Governor of Alabama, in a symbolic attempt to keep his inaugural promise of "segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever" and stop the desegregation of schools, stood at the door of the Foster Auditorium at the University of Alabama to try to block the entry of two African American studentsIn response, President John F. Kennedy issued Executive Order 11111, which federalized the Alabama National Guard, and Guard General Henry Graham then commanded Wallace to step aside, saying, "Sir, it is my sad duty to ask you to step aside under the orders of the President of the United States.
I guess that answers that question!
Another commie nut ruining Oregon. Draft her!
Arkansas Democrat Governor: If Dwight D. Eisenhower asks me to deploy Guard (to protect black students attending integrated schools), I’ll say no...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkansas_National_Guard_and_the_integration_of_Central_High_School
On Monday, September 23, 1957, President Dwight D. Eisenhower issued proclamation 3204[8] demanding anyone involved with the obstruction of justice to disperse. When his order was not followed, Eisenhower federalized the entire Arkansas National Guard the following day[9] and unit members began assembling at home stations throughout the night. By order of the president, the National Guard was thus directed to support the integration rather than block it as the units had been before.
...This force, consisting of 107 officers, fifteen warrant officers and 1,184 enlisted men, closed on Camp Robinson just after noon on the 25th. The National Guard soldiers were told, “Our mission is to enforce the orders of the federal courts with respect to the attendance at the public schools of Little Rock of all those who are properly enrolled, and to maintain law and order while doing so Our individual feelings towards those court orders should have no influence on our execution of the mission.”[11] One Arkansas Guard major was quoted as saying, “We have been ordered to maintain the peace and that is what we intend to do.”[10] The remainder of Arkansas National Guard units remained at home stations, conducting daily formations and training, but taking no part in the actual operations around Central High School.
Yep
She doesn’t have the choice—He can federalize the National Guard just like Ike did in Little Rock. He should do it to Brown in California. Break the back of the Resistence in one easy blow.
Oh, for God’ sake. Snowflake governor. There are National Guard in sleazy Penn Station! I hardly think the area around Zaro’s Bread Basket has been militarized.
Lesbian Bitch, you don’t have that choice.
That’s a man...right?
I believe the talk has been using the Guard in states along the border. Oregon is a ways away.
Look on the bright side your governor has just fallen in the trap.
Those who believe in rule of law vs those who do not.
Who’s future is brighter your gov or President Trumps.
