One thing I'm looking forward to as I get older is becoming more "racist." I consider it one of the finer joys of aging. Children are averse to this kind of thing because they have no idea, for instance, that handing a kid named Terrell $150 of your hard-earned money for C.D.s, even though he has a bullet scar on his leg and an affinity for bad hash, might be a bad investment (note: I have personally done this). You have to learn these things the hard way. Putting two and two together over a lifetime has a tendency to make you generalize about people, and if you're intelligent, most of the time you will be right.
At this point, having lived through a series of dangerous and distasteful experiences with lowlifes, I can tell the difference between a good and a bad black man within seconds, and knowing the difference between them has made me safer, richer, and happier in general something a teenager is unlikely to understand, appreciate, or accept. The way kids are indoctrinated today makes them unlikely to ever appreciate it, and the only thing I can do for a man who places his morals over his judgment is laugh at him. To watch a smug, effeminate, and fully grown white man embrace a lowlife and then ask where his wallet went is comedy of the highest order funnier than watching drunk people fall off their bicycles or women throwing tantrums in the grocery store.

Atticus Finch did, to the consternation of liberals. It was an enjoyable sight.
But this article is really talking about becoming a mature adult, which will probably increase the number of conservatives as the average age of the nation goes up.
Very astute. Something people DO NOT WANT to believe: stereotypes are based in reality.
I learned early in a company that was over 50 percent black in the Army back in 1973, when I was 20. I formed an extremely low opinion of them then, and that opinion has done nothing but go down ever since.
Can someone explain the “giving $150 to the kid for CDs” to me please?
Yet if you listen to people like David Pigg, old people dont even know how to use an effing cell phone much less an effing democracy. Young people - hock ptui - what they dont know!
We just have a younger generation that has been raised on fear. Fear of saying the wrong thing and being called a racist. They’re especially afraid to point out any flaws in black culture, and therefore anything they do must be “tolerated” and blamed on someone else.
People are being taught to actively distrust and override their gut feelings about any number of things, in the name of tolerance and diversity. Well, let me amend that, white people are being taught this. It’s like rats with toxoplasma gondii who lose their fear and are actually drawn to cat pee. They get eaten. Then the cats are infected and the parasite is passed on to their human caretakers, who also exhibit many of the traits that infected mice exhibit. Irrational, even crazy, they experience a loss of the ability to determine predator from prey. Thus they become prey, they become Democrats.
I believe it refers to people selling bootleg cds or dvds-music and movies.
That’s my line. We don’t have “stereotypes” for no reason. We also have “exceptions to the rule”.
I asked my friend if her 20 year old daughter was walking home on a quiet street after dark, which would she prefer to run into.....a few young men leaving a Bible study, or a few young men leaving a mosque.
Don’t forget the Tyrones.
Oh, I guess that’s better than banking with Terrell.
This reads like the comic version of David Horowitz’s brilliant book “Radical Son.” He learned the hard way too.
Certificate of Deposit.Back when he did this they were paying 12%
I found some of my folks CD paper work from 72/75. if I recall CDs 12 %.
200 G’s @ 12 % Thank you hi interest
Compact discs. They were once used to contain recorded music.
Children DO know the difference.
My 4yo niece once identified her brother’s friend, calling him “that dark boy”.
Not that it makes much difference. She’s big on that “culture” now; no further comment either on that or her!
There’s always at least a grain of truth.
How could she tell before it was too late?
She has no idea where they are coming from. A black guy coming unbeknownst from bible study would provoke a different reaction to a Muslim, I bet.
Succinctly put - I may have to steal that. Not all of this is inner progress, because not all of it is inner. Standards, fashions, social enthusiasms change over time and an individual consistent to a set of principles often finds himself or herself somewhere quite different from where they started with respect to the mainstream. Reagan famously remarked that his party left him, and he wasn't kidding.
Recall that once one aspired to be judged on the content of his character, not the color of his skin. Now one is "bigoted" for acknowledging that color, or even for possessing it. That isn't progress. I do not consider it particularly racist to observe that the world is full of festering anuses of all colors, because I've met a few by now. Perhaps that's part of what the author meant.
Nevertheless, it's the sort of thing that appears to be unavoidable unless one avoids all contact with the outside world, and there have been times lately when a monastery has had its attractions. At 18 I never dreamed I'd say that, but that was before I learned that at some of them there is beer.
