President Trump said Friday that construction of his promised border wall would start "immediately" after signing the omnibus spending bill, which included $1.6 billion in funding for the wall.
"We're going to be starting work literally on Monday," Trump said during an event Friday at the White House. "We have a lot of money coming to the border."
Trump had threatened earlier Friday to veto the spending bill Congress passed on Thursday because it did not include sufficient funding for the wall and because it omitted expiring protections for young, undocumented immigrants.

Read an article about Mitch shortly after election. He is NOT a favored person here. It remarked how encyclopedic his knowledge of the Senate rules and laws were That is HIS strength. TRump has a way of using the strength of those around him. That is his strength.
( McConnell singlehandedly kept 80 judicial seat from being filled by Obama and after the vote Friday got 17 people confirmed. The man can do the job if he puts his mind to it. Just wish he’d do it more often)

The plan is likely for Mexico to reimburse the money - I suspect there are lots of ways to accomplish this. A “toll” to get through the border for people and goods - or a tax on money going back to Mexican banks - I do not doubt the President.

There are many here who agree with me that Trump let us down by not vetoing that stupidity of an omnibus bill. Doesn’t make us trolls. If we have to be fearful of being zotted for that then I guess we don’t belong here. I always stuck up for Trump but when he makes what I believe to be a mistake I will speak out - I’m not a zombie. You are entitled to correct me if I am wrong, but never call me a troll or be disrespectful. (Not you in this case, but you know what I mean.)
I know very well WHAT the moderator does. It’s just that it seemed to me that he was censoring a FRiend in a derogatory fashion by calling him a troll (a very bad word) for a comment that seemed pretty tame. We’ve said far worse against Mittens, McShame, et.al! A moderator should be more diplomatic. 22 years in the service taught me that you praise in public and correct in private. That’s all I was getting at. Why is invoking Hitler losing the debate? Didn’t Hitler suppress free speech? Isn’t free speech what we patriots are all about? I think the Admin Moderator was out of line and I spoke out.
P.S. I have fully supported Trump since the very beginning but I do reserve the right to call out a bonehead move by Trump if that is how I see it, right?
