President Trump said Friday that construction of his promised border wall would start "immediately" after signing the omnibus spending bill, which included $1.6 billion in funding for the wall.
"We're going to be starting work literally on Monday," Trump said during an event Friday at the White House. "We have a lot of money coming to the border."
Trump had threatened earlier Friday to veto the spending bill Congress passed on Thursday because it did not include sufficient funding for the wall and because it omitted expiring protections for young, undocumented immigrants.
I never thought Mexico would pay for the actual construction of the wall, in the beginning. But they will pay us back.
So, a Manhattan builder, who says “I will never let you down”, is now the F N President, and people think the wall is not getting built?
These people don’t have a concept of what is involved to get a building constructed in a major city, let alone NYC.
This will be a cakewalk for Trump as President, although the lower courts may be ankle biting. Part of doing business.
Maybe you should leave and spend more time with your legos!
It is fake. Listen to the you tube. Very well explained. (You’re the fifth person I’ve pulled off the cliff today). Trump used some alinsky methods of entrapping the democrats. Used their own system to beat them. And then pulled the rug out. They are all on a two week vacation and haven’t put 2+2 yet. Another Win
Love it.
Going to be a rare treat watching this unfold.
Hope he can pull off this project and kill funding for sanctuary cities, gun control and abortion.
If he can’t, he will be impeached in 2019.
This is work on repairing existing walls and an extension of the wall. None of the prototypes Trump looked at in California can be used.
If he does, he will win reelection in a landslide. I have to admit I am on pins and needles, with the way Congress has stabbing him in the back I dont see how this can get done. I moved 2300 miles to get away from the invasion. If it continues there will be no where else for me to move to. The country will be toast.
So if the wall cost $25 billion and illegals cost $113 billion per year ($29 bil at the fed level and $84 bil at the staye and local level) the wall pays for itself over and over and over.
Yes. Where are all of the FR storm chasers?
Are you a blind opposer? Have you withdrawn your support for President Trump—thus becoming a #NeverTrumper?
If not, then everything's fine. Deplorables have every right to be upset with this GOPe travesty. But abandoning a President who is in the midst of fighting a coup? Ludicrous. Asinine. Laughable.
There are plenty of places for self-indulgent #NeverTrump masturbation. Abandoning the President for signing a 6-month spending bill is not a legitimate option, all things considered.
The President has access to much more information than any of us, and he has earned our trust a dozen times over during the last two years. Even though I might disagree with his decisions at times, I trust his judgement, and am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt long before trusting the judgement of armchair quarterbacks and knee-jerk second-guessers who don't have complete information.
I've seen it time and time again since President Trump assumed office—the latent #NeverTrumpers seize on every opportunity to expose themselves as "sunshine patriots". Anyone who would abandon the President as a result of signing this bill—against the backdrop of a pervasive, ongoing Deep State coup attempt—is simply incapable of seeing the big picture.
President Trump—who was visibly angry at the ceremony—has to pick his battles carefully. Choosing a 6-month spending bill as a hill to die on would have been asinine. Crushing this coup—and having a fully funded military in position to assist, if needed—is magnitudes more important than risking a government shutdown or a crushing veto override.
#NeverTrump is as #NeverTrump does, and anyone who drops their support of President Trump because of butthurt over a short-term spending bill is a de facto #NeverTrumper—by definition.
Opposing this bill—as I did—is woefully insufficient justification to stop supporting President Trump...
WOW! quite obvious he was never one of us.
Why the venom? Something to sell?

I don’t like being lied to about something so important as murdering innocent babies. It is something worth taking a stand for with everything you have, such as an impassioned speech as to why he could not sign such a bill based on his previously stated belief that abortion is taking an innocent life. Maybe even do something really crazy like mention that we are one week away from Easter when Christ laid down his life for us. But nope. Trump throws in the towel on sacrificing 1000 babies a day to the god of convenience instead.
And your accusation stinks. I have defended Trump to anyone and everyone I have encountered since the election who spoke disrespectfully of him. Almost to the point of violence on at least one occasion.
DUmmy Troll.
Good question. LOL
Use the Nuclear option Mr. President. Start by taking the funding from Schumer’s Tunnel to build Trump’s Wall.
Monday's news comments ought to be spectacular.
Yelp. Never have been a fan of ol Mitch but have heard his knowledge of past bills and laws is remarkable. It could have only been accomplished with that background He’s done two outstanding things the mastermind of this and keeping Obama from appointing over 80 judges including SCOTUS. As frustrated as He makes me, may have to forgive him
