PFLUGERVILLE The suspected Austin serial bomber who apparently killed himself early Wednesday as authorities closed in on him was Pflugerville resident Mark A. Conditt, local and federal law enforcement sources told the American-Statesman and KVUE.
As the sun rose, neighbors of the 23-year-old, who was home-schooled growing up and went to Austin Community College, struggled to wrap their minds around the news that he was the suspected bomber.

Too bad this was “solved” a few days before this weekend.
I said something to the effect that all we have here is the guy who delivered the packages and perhaps purchased some items.

Call me crazy, but I don’t think we would actually see sympathy for this kid if he was a Muslim.
If he is the “white conservative” terrorist that reports allude to, counting Timothy McVeigh and any others I can’t recall, that makes how many out of dozens of mass murderers/domestic terrorists in the last few decades that were not leftists?
So they want us to think. Not all homeschooling families are conservative Republicans. And some people who are “homeschooled” have been expelled from public and private schools and their parents advised to homeschool.
When I was facilitator for our county homeschool group I received calls from parents who were told by school authorities that homeschool might be the best option for their child. I always take news reports of homeschooling with a large grain of salt.

Exactly. My wife was a special ed teacher in secondary schools. She dealt with this on a regular basis. There are certainly conservatives out there who homeschool their kids just as there are some lefties who homeschool theirs. Some of these kids are high functioning autistics with retarded social skills who simply can’t function in a public school setting. Some are foisted on the school system by parents demanding special treatment. Some of these kids are flat out dangerous due to their condition combined with meds they take....and the schools let them in. Some go on to adjust to their condition to live semi normal lives and some don’t.
They are ticking time bombs....so to speak.
We are better than this. If he is indeed a “conservative” we accept it and don’t need to be defensive. The leftists go through hoops to avoid any association when one of “theirs” does crap like this guy did. We hold people accountable, unlike the other side.

I’m not going false flag on this one. He might as well have danced a jig for all those Fed Ex cameras and put balloons on his jeep parked out front. Wearing a blonde wig is a sure clue the guy had brown hair. His normal drive from Pflugerville would be down I-35 which is along where the bombs were located. I’d suspected it to be a 20 something white guy and had hoped the cops would look hard at the bike guys.
Just because he was homeschooled doesn’t necessarily mean the family is conservative. This is Austin and there are many artsy tree huggers who homeschool there. But then again, conservatives do tend to live outside the city.

Some people call them Home school Refugees. The system tells parents they should home school the incorrigibles.
To properly homeschool, the parents must be all-in. It’s a 100% commitment for 12 years.
We home educated our four kids and we’ve been pretty deeply involved with hundreds of homeschooled families.
While most kids turn out OK, some do not.
I know a few who have completely turned their backs on their Christian parents.
One young man who I led for many years in Boy Scouts died of an overdose a couple years ago.
It’s rare, but it happens.
And you’re right, while most homeschoolers are coming from a Christian perspective, there are plenty of secular homeschoolers.
