When news of the Parkland school shooting first broke, it resonated with 17-year-old Naomi Giancola.
A junior at Midwood High School in Brooklyn, New York – some 1,200 miles away from Marjory Stoneman Douglas, the Florida high school where a gunman murdered 17 students and faculty on Feb. 14 – Giancola immediately thought the tragedy could have easily happened at her own school.
“It really hit home because I’m in high school. That could have been my school, that could have been my friends, that could have been me that was shot or running away,” Giancola told Fox News.
So along with 16-year-old Madeline Paterna, Giancola arranged for her school to participate in the National School Walkout, a protest led by students demanding action against gun violence, on March 14 – one month after the Parkland school shooting.
“It was really scary to think that could have been us, and I just wanted to do something because I don’t want it to happen again," Giancola said.

Hilton Head SC - Example of this nonsense seen here. While at the Vet, A small bus pulled up and let out about 15 high school students. They brought a potted plant into the vet’s office, then one of them read a piece of paper stating that the plant was in memorial of the students killed at Parkland. They handed over the plant and went out and got back on the bus and departed. I seen some bazaar political things in my 76 years, but this was downright ridiculous. Why weren’t they on school instead of handing out en memorium plants to dog hospitals? My school tax dollars at work.
Look at how corporate America rallied around a Communist holiday last week (international women’s day).
There is no celebration honoring our Constitution. No celebration honoring our liberties. Fourth of July to celebrate our Independence hasn’t been celebrated that way for a long time. Fireworks and hot dogs and a day off in summer (maybe with an outdoor concert). Some red white and blue trim in advertising is about it.

I’m on the fence about that. I think showing up and choosing to not participate in a school walkout - which otherwise kids would be almost universally inclined to participate - sends a pretty powerful message about liberty and against such leftist activism.
I told him he can borrow my NRA cap that day, but he politely declined; a bit too bold a statement, perhaps. Maybe I’ll make him wear his Gadsden Flag shirt instead...
Some teachers should give a pop quiz worth 10% of your grade for the semester, no make ups.
First question, what’s your name.
Or another reason to send your kids to Catholic or private school.
Some parent should write a letter to the principal or school superintendent perhaps with the suggestion that this may make the school susceptible to lawsuits.
Wear white and say your civil liberties are being held hostage. tape over the mouth may work as well.
Man is that a good question. My hunch tells me that everyone will march for reasons of peer/admministration pressure and/or threats. Those who choose not to participate will be publicly humiliated, shunned, and/or forced to undergo counseling.
Who paid for the bus? City school bus or carriage for hire?
They aren’t learning in those creepy artificial mass indoctrination centers with weaponized curricula and pure Marxist literature which bans only Western civilization (Christian Ehics for Satanism/sodomy/baby-killing, slavery (welfare)) which embeds only an irrational “utopian” slave culture.
These children are being made into group-non-thinkers, intentionally since the communist John Dewey destroyed our curricula for Darwinian Marxism—total removal from Truth (God) and Reality (science). Habits of virtue are destroyed in such a artificial, dehumanizing system which destroys agency and independence. Individualism is gone for Collectivization for mass conformity where emotions rule and Reason is non-existent like these pathetic brainwashed people prove.
Especially the last couple of months? Play some Pink Floyd and skip school. We don’t need no education.. we don’t need no thought control.

She forgot about the “white man” part. But she actually displays some piece of rationality. Not bad for 16 years old.

Let me think....NO! I would like to think that had this
happened when I was in school my 5’5” WWII combat wounded
paratrooper dad turned HS Agriculture Science teacher
would have threatened me with a severe ass kicking if
he suspected I might try to take advantage of events.
I would also like to think that that particular day
would be the one day I would be proud to attend all of
my classes.
And, how many school admins are whole heartedly supporting this truancy?
How many Students will be told to, “MARCH OR FAIL: ?
Neighbor teaches - said one student would be walking out and informed him.
He said that he told the student it’s your choice.
The student replied that another teacher told him it’s mandatory.
Yes, the leftists are engineering this thing.
The ones who are wise to this tactic should just go with the flow, leave with the rest of the students, and then just slip away to a Pizza Hut for lunch.
