The grand jury investigating alleged collusion between Russia and Donald Trump's presidential campaign has sent a witness a subpoena seeking all documents involving the president and a host of his closest advisers, according to a copy of the subpoena reviewed by NBC News.
According to the subpoena, which was sent to a witness by special counsel Robert Mueller, investigators want emails, text messages, work papers, telephone logs and other documents going back to Nov. 1, 2015, 4½ months after Trump launched his campaign.

I've heard that story since last spring. And since then? Some minor indictments and charges about old dealings. Legit or not, nothing to do with Trump. And 13 Russian trolls indicted, lol. And we were supposed to stop this last spring?

Why would a witness who received the subpoena share the information with NBC without actually turning over a copy of the subpoena to NBC? So they can lie about what's in it, for one thing.
My next reaction, once it sunk in that this is compulsion to ONE witness, is that the story is much ado about nothing. For all we know, this witness has no material responsive to the subpoena.
Now we’re getting down to the real nitty-gritty. Deep State knows they won’t find collusion with Russia. What they really want and NEED to know is HOW TRUMO WON.
It’s driving them crazy.

Mueller is turning this into an obnoxious farce on purpose to try and bait Trump into firing him. It’s Mueller’s only way out at this point.
This sounds like a fishing expedition. I’d like to see this expedition erased as thoroughly as the Clinton Crime Family makes things disappear.

I can just see a judge saying, "Well, this bad evidence must be thrown out, and it clearly exonerates Carter Page, but we'll use it anyway against Manifort and Trump..."

Obviously, Trump, or Sessions won’t do anything to stop Mueller. Perhaps putting pressure on Deputy AG RR (Ron Rosenstein) would speed this to a conclusion and not an uncontrolled witch hunt.

Yes, if the evidence is gathered illegally it will be tossed, particularly if there is, as you say, no other evidence.
However, what we’re looking at with what Mueller is running around doing is clearly hunting for MORE evidence. Even though the investigation was triggered by an illegally obtained warrant, this does not mean that any and all evidence it develops is ‘poisoned’ only that which stems directly from the warrant - which is most likely evidence against Carter Page.
The classic “Poisoned tree” case is Wong Sun V. United States (1963).
Narcotics agents recieved a tip from an unreliable informant that a man - Toy - was selling drugs. They then illegally entered his dry cleaners and Toy implicated a man named Jonny, who ultimately pointed the finger at Wong Sun as the drug supplier. The men were arraigned and released. Wong Sun later returned to the police station and gave a statement in which he confessed.
The Supreme Court ultimately decided that the testimony of Toy and Jonny, as well as the drugs found in the search of Wong Sun’s apartment were inadmissable: fruit of the poisoned tree. HOWEVER, Wong Sun’s confession was ruled admissable evidence. Simply because an investigation is begun poisoned it doesn’t mean the whole thing needs to be thrown out.
So in the case of Trump, Page, and Bobby Mule’s Flying Circus, evidence which stems directly from the FISA warrant and its intercepts would likely be ruled inadmissable, while testimony from someone like Pappadopoulous would most likely NOT be ruled the fruit of the poisoned tree, nor would evidence developed from subpoenaed financial documents, emails, or other communications.
In other words, Trump needs to shut this thing DOWN because people are definitely in actual legal jeopardy from the relentless digging Mueller is doing, we can’t count on the Supreme Court to just throw the thing out and I have no doubt that the AG of New York is all over this thing - limiting Trump’s ability to pardon.

This article will prove that at best Mueller is a cowardly, political bureaucrat who put his job over his country, at worst, a very corrupt law enforcement officer. This mostly happened on his watch, and then Comey’s of course. By whitewashing crimes for the Russians, Mueller was an enabler of the Russian deal, when felonies effecting US security were being committed he stood silent.
Trump should tattoo him with this and let the people realize he is a political hack.

The fact is he has done nothing so far and has had ample opportunity to prosecute the Manaford types for some thing relevant. Nobody is going to care about 13 Russian trolls and an admission or guilty plea for unrelated offenses done years ago.
Robert Mueller is simply the senile Deep Swamp stooge put there to give this fishing expedition am esteemed respectable face. The real brains here and dirty work are being done by Andrew Weissman who is the #1 in charge and the Democrat donor lawyers that Weissman directs.
Mueller drifts in and out of cluelessness and preening his peacock feathers. He took this assignment so that he could reconnect with old DC Swamper buddies and get the best tables at DC restaurants just by showing up with his entourage in tow.
Good post, DW. Why does Mueller ping pong....going from pillar to post hoping to dig up stuff on Trump wrongdoing? It goes nowhere. My guess is Chuckie Shhomer and the Dem gang are egging him on----b/c all of the dead ends get ample media coverage but it convinces people Trump did something wrong.......thus we see many states Trump won going Democrat. I believe Mueller's "cluelessness" is all staged...a big act. Dems are convinced the primetime "Mueller Show" will give Democrats control of the House.
