The NBC report says the information came from the witness who RECEIVED the subpoena.

Think about it for a moment ...

Why would a witness who received the subpoena share the information with NBC without actually turning over a copy of the subpoena to NBC? So they can lie about what's in it, for one thing.

My first reaction to the story was "what took Mueller so long to investigate the campaign?" After all, that's supposedly his core function, raison d'etre.

My next reaction, once it sunk in that this is compulsion to ONE witness, is that the story is much ado about nothing. For all we know, this witness has no material responsive to the subpoena.
