One week after a mass shooter Nikolas Cruz murdered 17 people inside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, Broward's top cop on Thursday revealed a stunning series of failures by the sheriff’s department.
A school campus cop heard the gunfire, rushed to the building but never went inside – instead waiting outside for another four agonizing minutes as Cruz continued the slaughter.

These poor kids. They were let down by so many people.
He was there just for the pay, he didn’t care about protecting and saving lives.
Still been let down, and misguided.
Let’s review. FIVE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF FAILURE!:
- FBI failed (”could not find him”)
- Sheriff’s department failed (39x)
- Schools failed (no discipline / no expulsion / no referral to PD)
- FL Child Services failed
- this guy failed
The only people who went by the book? The adoptive parents who called the cops ... and the gun dealer who made sure everything went by the book.
And we know who’s the only one the leftists want to blame.
Agreed. Except one thing...

At Columbine, at least one, and probably more, victims slowly bled to death as the cops waited. At least all the cops got home safely.
I wonder how CNN will react to this news?
Probably the same way they react to all the facts that do them harm.
They will ignore it.

Gun-grabbing Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel was at the CNN town hall, and attacked Dana Loesch for questioning the law enforcement response, including missed signs in the years before the shooting.
Now it turns out his department may have failed on-site as well.
He is not a very good advertisement for the “You don’t need guns, police will protect you because the cops won’t” crowd.
He is a better advertisement for “the “You’d better get a gun to protect yourself” crowd.
Well, I’ve never been in a “live fire” situation, but I’ve heard of both heroes and cowards in such a situation.
Since I’ve never been in that situation, I don’t feel comfortable judging him or his actions.
I’d like to think I’d be Rambo in such a situation, the hero of the day, but you just never know. Never know what you’ll actually turn into. We can all imagine we’d be the tough guy, but it’s easy to imagine such fantasies behind the keyboard.
Maybe someone who has been in such a situation can judge him rightfully, but I don’t think I can.
It’s certainly sad, that’s for sure. I’m sure he feels pretty devastated about it too.

I said that day I bet he was not even on campus like so many deputies who are supposed to be at the school. Near me at the middle school the officer was not there when a major fight broke out, but of course she got away with it, and keeps her job.

He did not have what it takes.
His duty was to run towards the gun fire, which takes enormous courage, and why our soldiers and police command respect. Now the third leg of the stool failed. Local police failed after 39 engagments, FBI have two highly detailed warnings, and the armed guard at the school who lost his nerve.
The guard will have a hard time dealing with this.
Let his failure be a lesson to those, who now see it and will know what to do.
The FBI management should be fired.
Sheriff Israel should be fired.

There may be things we don’t know about this man, but one thing we can be sure if is that you got it right. He will suffer for the rest of his life because of that decision.
This is more wrong from the national media: They are burying the lede: He is RETIRING with a taxpayer funded lifetime pension. For a bald faced act of COWARDICE. And the national media isn’t mentioning it. This should be THE LEDE!!!
