A coalition that includes a Latino membership organization and a former Massachusetts governor filed lawsuits on Wednesday challenging how four U.S. states allocate their Electoral College votes in presidential elections. The lawsuits were filed in federal courts in Massachusetts and California, states that went for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016, and South Carolina and Texas, where a majority of votes went to Republican U.S. President Donald Trump.
The lawsuits challenge the winner-take-all system used in those states to select electors who cast votes for president and vice president in the Electoral College after a presidential election. Forty-four other states and the District of Columbia also use that system.

The EC vote is needed otherwise Hillary would be President.
Hillary won the Popular vote by about 2.9 million votes of
which about 1.7 million votes came from one county.
Los Angles County, CA.
Hey, lets let CA decide all elections. Saves money and time.
States are free to do what they wish with their electors
The Democrats lost PLAYING BY THE RULES. But instead of regrouping, they’re now calling in their judges to CHANGE THE RULES.
How about one of their judges simply rule the Republican Party to be Unconstitutional, once and for all, and just be done with it?
Nebraska had two EV (for the Senators) for the Statewide vote winner. Each of the three EV (for the House Reps) goes for the vote winner in each district. I think that if this was adopted nationwide, it would benefit Republicans. For that reason alone, Demoncrats would oppose that.
What they want is all EV to Demoncrats, all the time, regardless of the vote count.
Actually, citizens do NOT have the right to directly vote for President. Citizens have the right to vote for representatives in their state government and the state governments decide how their Electoral College votes are distributed. Presidential candidates don't even have to be on the ballots, though they are in all states. After the vote, the state legislators decide how to distribute their Electoral College votes. In most states it's winner take all, but 2-3 states have a different system.
I'm pretty sure I'm right about this.
Two states: Maine and Nebraska.
I think it’s time to break up the United States. The Democrats have destroyed it too much, and it will no longer go back together again. Time to break it up
They can probably find a federal judge willing to declare the Constitution unconstitutional.
You are right, and the Electoral College vote of the other 49 states would be even more lopsided.
Trying to use Reynolds v. Sims to overrule hard coded language in the Constitution won’t pass muster.

A self-admitted British subject passed muster.
If were are true to what I believe the Founding Fathers envisioned, we would allocate electoral votes by Congressional District, according to the majority vote in each district. The President would in most cases be a reflection of the House membership at the time of the election.
In addition to an electoral vote per House member there are two additional electoral votes per state, allocated per Senator. These could be cast independently by each Senator.
Although if the 17th Amendment were repealed, we once more would have representation of each state's concerns, rather than the will of deep pockets (in some cases international deep pockets). The two electoral votes could be by polling the combined membership of each state's legislative chamber(s).
“The system should be left alone, before someone truly screws it up.”
Agreed, the system works. Do not open the door to fix something that is not broken. Doing so will invite the left really screw it up, in their favor.
His eligibility was never considered by the courts because they refused to grant cert to the various cases related to it.
The 9th Circuit will happily do so.
I would like to challenge the “and all other persons” clause that allots representatives, and hence electoral votes. Why should illegal aliens count towards electoral college votes?
Im not surprised that the referenced article fails to mention that winner takes all" laws of some states clearly violates the 12th Amendment (12A) imo.
"The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and of all persons voted for as Vice- President, and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, [emphasis added] directed to the President of the Senate; "
Note that 12A not only shows that the early states never intended for ordinary citizens to have the power to elect either senators or presidents, but consider the following.
If were really sincere about complying with 12A, I hope that Pres. Trump will not only be a two term president, but also that he is the last president elected by ordinary citizens.
Corrections, insights welcome.
What the states need to do when they wake up and repeal the ill-conceived 17th Amendment is to include a provision in the repeal amendment that prohibits political party support for representatives.
After all, since one of the very few powers that the states have actually expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds to decide domestic policy is to run the US Mail Service (1.8.7), most other federal domestic policy based on post-17A ratification stolen state powers, the key question concerning federal domestic policy is this.
How many political parties does it take to run the US Mail Service.
I say none, no political parties needed.
What patriots need to do in the meanwhile is to finish the job that they started in 2016 when they elected Trump President.
More specifically, patriots now need to be making sure that there are plenty of Trump-supporting patriots candidates on the 2018 primary ballots who will commit to respecting the fed's constitutionally limited powers, and pink-slip career lawmakers by sending patriot candidate lawmakers to DC on election day.
And until the states wake up and repeal 17A, as evidenced by concerns about the integrity of Alabama's special Senate election, patriot candidates need to win elections by a large enough margin to compensate for possible deep state ballot box fraud and associated MSM scare tactics.
Hacking Democracy - The Hack
Obama’s birthplace is irrelevant, his disability stems from hi foreign national father and his inherited allegiances and nationalities.
He is not a natural born citizen, despite the Supreme Court’s cowardice.
...It seems Dims have a fantasy dream and then write it up as lawsuit...
This would include their fantasy of giving the vote to 16 year olds.
They don’t even know what they’re going to be doing this weekend, let alone what it takes to run a country.
Plus he is an Indonesian and thinks he has been to 57 states.
