Actually, citizens do NOT have the right to directly vote for President. Citizens have the right to vote for representatives in their state government and the state governments decide how their Electoral College votes are distributed. Presidential candidates don't even have to be on the ballots, though they are in all states. After the vote, the state legislators decide how to distribute their Electoral College votes. In most states it's winner take all, but 2-3 states have a different system.

I'm pretty sure I'm right about this.

Two states: Maine and Nebraska.
