Joe Scarborough often touts his deep roots in the gun culture, growing up in the South. But either he never knew as much about guns as he’s claimed, or his passion for gun control has made him forget or ignore what he once knew.
On today’s Morning Joe, Scarborough repeatedly claimed that the AR-15, used in Parkland and in other mass shootings, is “more lethal” than the M-16. H/t FReeper SnuffaBolshevik.

No, its not just the number increase! If you add the letter capitalized ‘M’ you increase the deadliness many times! ‘M” is higher in the alphabet than a mere “AR’. Any fool can see that.

I was that reader LOL. You are right. It didn’t exactly Blow Me Away.
A human body falling like a lump because of whatever reason can be a pretty damn hard impact. Especially on the corner of a desk. Yeah it’s a reach but we will never know.
I’m a big guy, Read fat LOL, and I fell from fainting once and hit the ground and was fine. but I know more than a few old women who have died in the shower after falling. I know. They were old. Big difference. I don’t know

You could argue that the M-16 in 5.56 versus an AR in another caliber such as .243 or 6.8Rem could be “more powerful” but it is semantics.
IMHO it is rate of fire. A properly prepared M-16 will outshoot any modified AR-15 except those modified to be an M-16.
