Wow. It actually looks like a normal map. I think the Supreme Court did a pretty good job. Congratulations Pennsylvania. Now on to many many other states. Maryland would be a good start. I guess North Carolina is getting a go at it. There is no reason that weird shapes should be part of it.

Regardless of whether or not they did a good job, was it the court’s job to do?

Except that neither the Pennsylvania Constitution nor the Federal Constitution gives any entity other than the state legislature the authority to draw the map.
So you're approving of lawlessness. Congratulations.

Who the heck are you ?
And where is the court empowered to do this?
The Pennsylvania constitution is deliberately vague on this issue.

The devil is in the details. Where are the “black” neighborhoods? Is it population-weighted? I don’t know enough about Pennsylvania’s geographic landscape to know if it is fair or not but at least it doen’t look crazy gerrymandered. It also seems a bit tilted toward Philadelphia.

Don't fall for that. The Court is dominated by activist left-wing hacks. We fell asleep for an off-year election and the unions managed to cram this group down our piehole.
Here's what it looked like before.

I think the Supreme Court did a pretty good job. Are you serious? The PA Supreme Court has no more authority to draw that map than I do. That's a responsibility granted solely to legislatures.

Wow. It actually looks like a normal map. I think the Supreme Court did a pretty good job. I say "bulls***!" This new map hurts Republicans. I don't care how fair or normal it looks.
We're at war here and Republicans need to understand exactly what that means. The ONLY reason the courts intervened here is because Republicans benefited. They will NOT do so in other states.
To: napscoordinator
So it's the court's job to see more Democrats are elected and hold more power in the state? This whole thing stinks. No doubt that POS Wolfe is behind this too.

They’re setting things up for their messiahs return in 2020: Hillary F. Clinton. I still say she is going to run, I would bet a fortune on that but I’m broke, but make no mistake - she feels it is her destiny. She is on a mission from Satan. Get prepared to hear “WHY AREN’T I 50 POINTS AHEAD!!” again.

Doesn’t matter if they were fair or not, or did a good job or not. They have NO authority to do so; rests solely with the state legislature.
To: napscoordinator
...and that Republican lawmakers challenge it in federal court. Should be interesting.
To: napscoordinator
Sorry naps, extraconstitutional and done in avarice under consideration of a friendly Court on appeal not blocking the map in time for the primary ... What we are going to need , as soon as Kennedy retires , are enhanced enabling laws from Congress that allow SCOTUS to “capture” extraconstitutional cases without certiorari.
Yeah we would pay for such a thing someday but with Kennedy’s replacement, we would have two decades of a mechanism to defeat liberal court treason.

The judged have neither the technical expertise nor the software to draw a redistricting map. They would have adoptrd a map drawn by someone else? So: who actually drew the new lines? And what criteria were used?
If the judges retained a neutral outside consultant and ordered lines drawn strictly on the basis of compactness and contiguity, the map might pass the smell test. If they simply adopted the plaintiff's map and mandated the Democrat plan, it's a very different matter.

Pennsylvania Supreme Court issues new election mapy.Since when did the Constitution, Federal, or any State have an enumerated power for the Judicial to create election maps?
Granted, Gerrymandering is an obnoxious abuse of the electoral process and a a sick infringement of voter rights.
Unfortunately, it was not struck down at birth; it should have been stillborn.

This has triggered a constitutional crisis, The PA SC has usurped authority from the legislature. The legislature redid the maps but they were instantly turned down by PA’s Dem Governor.
